This Was Not An Easy Decision

Posted on February 12, 2008

Posted on the official Spineshank messageboard, comes this message from Jonny Santos, on his departure from Spineshank and his new plans for the months ahead. Hello everyone. First off, I would like to thank everyone who has stuck by SPINESHANK over the years. You are the single most important people to myself and the rest of the guys. I am sorry that this has happened, but it was inevitable at this point. This was not an easy decision for me, but one that I felt I needed to do. It is true that we have had creative differences over the last several years, but I always tried to be positive and contribute my part as a vocalist for the band. I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished as a band and will never harbor any regrets. It was my life for the last 8 years and it is something I will hold close to my heart forever. [However] I feel that it is time for all of us to move on. Tommy, Mike and Rob are amazing creative people and I have no doubt that they will make an awesome next record for you guys. I wish them only the best luck in wherever they go. As for myself, I am currently in the studio tracking demos for a new project that I’ve been working on for a while. We have 15 songs and I hope to be in the studio [recording a full-length album] by this summer. As soon as we have a name you will be the first to know. I can understand that so many of you may be hurt by this split, but the bottom line is that I just wasn’t happy anymore. I hope that all of you can understand that. You guys are so important to me and hope you guys will stay true to SPINESHANK. I will have something new for you guys real soon. I hope this has cleared up a lot of unanswered questions for everyone. I love you all very much and I will continue to create music for all of you.”

Dirty Updates

Posted on February 12, 2008

New video, new promo tour, new album… the latest Dirty Americans info from guitarist Jeff… Welcome to Dirty Americans 2004!! We had some really great shows in December with Seether and Gary Hoey(yes, Gary Hoey!) A great way to close out what was a very busy year for the band. The holidays brought us a nice break from this frickin’ circus that is the music biz. We all took a few weeks and got our heads together. As I laid on the beach in Jamaica over the new year, it dawned on me how busy this year is going to be. We’re very excited about shooting our first video for í¢ä‰åñStrange Generationí¢ä‰åŒ next week. We’re filming it at the high school where Myron used to teach in northern Michigan. It’s gonna be ROCK to the bone so keep your eyes peeled. Myron and I are also jumpin’ the pond to do some interview/ acoustic performances starting January 24. Our stops include London, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne and I don’t know where the hell else. Sounds dangerous to me. I hope my liver can take it! We’ll be laying the groundwork the full-length release (finally!!!!!!!!) of our album í¢ä‰åñStrange Generationí¢ä‰åŒ on March 15. Hopefully the whole band will be over not long after to do some touring. And so, looks like the first half of the year is already filling up and I can only imagine how the rest is gonna go. More fuckin craziness as we make our way. But I can’t wait!!!!!!! See ya’ll soon Peace Jeff
