Yesterday in the US of A, they celebrated Thanksgiving and you’d think, being an international superstar thanks to being the man, the legend Tommy Lee- drummer with the infamous Motley Crue- that Tommy would be in his mansion being served a slap up meal, supping the finest wines and surrounded by hot chicks.
However, Tommy is busy working on the new METHODS OF MAYHEM record, going through all the submissions from members of the public for the tracks on the album, so he spent his time in the studio. Check the latest update from Tommy to see his glamour filled working holiday. Poor Tommy.
Lest you forget, here’s your reminder that Tuesday 1st December will see a FREE download of the title track of TAKING DAWN’S debut album, due for a release on the 25th Jan 2010.
The guys hail from Las Vegas, surrounded by all the glitz, the glamour and the debauchery and it shows!! They’re a rock n roll time-bomb about to explode onto the scene!!
‘We spent our whole lives in Las Vegas and we’re the only people from Las Vegas who didn’t turn into smack dealers’, chortles vocalist Chris (Babbit), who also did a stint as security with guitarist Mikey (Cross) at the Hard Rock Hotel, leading them to be featured in True TV’s Rehab show over in the ‘States. ‘I save a lot of lives, kick a lot of ass!’ he laughs.
Taking Dawn are by no means a throw-back to 80’s glam metal, although the band are certainly inspired by the era gone by. “I don’t get people who don’t like Bon Jovi and Skid Row and other classic bands,” says Chris. “We want to bring it to the kids, for them to understand it in a modern context. We don’t want to imitate. We want to do our own thing. We want the balls and the attitude.”
Head back to the site at 4pm UK time Tuesday to download and check out the track…
When BLACK STONE CHERRY were in the UK last month it was like having family back after being away for an extended holiday. Not only do these guys rock (quite literally) at what they do they are damn awesome people as well. They are back home now and looking to start working on new material to follow-up current album Folklore & Superstition, so we won’t see them again for a while, so to help fill the gap a little, lets get to know their vocalist Chris a little better in the continuation of our Getting To Know You series:
What were you doing when I interrupted you to do this?
I was talking about Wagamamma chicken soup! I was saying how I’d like to have the chicken noodles tonight, but minus the onions and the chicken, so I get just the noodles and the broth kinda thing, you know what I mean? The broth is warm, it’s kinda good for your throat. And I talked to my fianc

Here at ROADRUNNER UK we are all about the carin’ and the sharin’ and so we have decided to share some of the Roadrunner band loot we have lying around in the office.
Starting tomorrow, we will be picking a member of the Roadrunner UK mailing list at random to win something from the office- it could be a rare promo CD, a poster, a CD, a DVD- anything. The winner will have 5 days to claim their prize or it will ‘rollover’ into the prize bin with the following weeks prize. Just like the national lottery. Only not so much wonga but much more rock-tastick.
To get in on the action, sign up for the mailing list over at the ROADRUNNER RECORDS HOMEPAGE and look out for the winner announcements on the site and in the mailout.
