Vocalist Dez Fafara of DEVILDRIVER was recently interviewed by Rick Florino of JamNow.
To listen to the chat, go to this location (select “Devildriver Interview” in the Jam Player on the upper right).
DEVILDRIVER's third album, “The Last Kind Words”, sold a little more than 14,000 copies during its first week of release to debut at No. 48 on The Billboard 200 chart. This figure represented around a 40 percent increase over the opening-week number of 2005's “The Fury of Our Maker's Hand”, which premiered at No. 177 with sales of 10,400.
Finland's Get in the Pit TV conducted an interview with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio and guitarist Joel Stroetzel on October 16, 2007 before the band's gig at Cable Factory in Helsinki, Finland. Watch the 10-minute clip below.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE played the last few gigs in Europe without their enigmatic guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who has once again been forced to leave the tour due to health reasons. Adam underwent back surgery in early 2007 and is said to be continuing with daily physical therapy in order to fully recover from his injuries. The group is currently performing as a four-piece, with guitar tech Josh Mihlek filling in for Adam on select songs.
In a late September 2007 interview with Finland's HardcoreSounds.Net, Dutkiewicz was asked how his back was holding up several months after the operation. “Well, to be honest, [it's] not the greatest at the moment,” he replied. “It's funny that you asked me this, because I think I hurt it couple of days ago again. Not as severe as before but it is starting to get a little sore again. Hopefully I will be able to finish this tour and then when we get back to States I will go and see my doctor again.”
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's video for the cover of the DIO classic “Holy Diver” has been posted on MySpace. The clip was shot in the Calistoga, California area the weekend of June 16-17 with director Brian Thompson.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's cover of DIO's “Holy Diver” is included on the reissue of the band's most recent album, “As Daylight Dies”, which was given the special-edition treatment on August 28. This special-edition CD/DVD contains three videos and four previously unreleased tracks.
