Totally Nickelback

Posted on February 12, 2008

Nickelback performed on MTV’s new TRL show recently, and Verity White was there. Read her experiences below! Hi there Just writing in to tell you what an amazing time we had at TRL on Monday when we saw Nickelback!! We had tickets for the show (thanks to your lovely people who e-mailed us to let us know how to get tickets!). Anyway it took 4 hours to drive to London but my God was it worth it!! In the studio i was so close to Chad i couldve touched him, but i managed to control myself as i didnt think the people at TRL would appreciate me feeling up their guests on live TV! Then during the commercial break we met Ryan Vikedal and then Chad, both were absolutely gorgeous and so so friendly!! Then they chatted a little bit about the new single, then did a fantastic live performance outside the studio. After the show went off air we met Ryan Peake and Mike Kroeger – they signed autographs for about 20 mins and were both lovely and yes, also very gorgeous ( theyre the hottest band on the planet!!). We had a brilliant day, and my mum taped us on the show and when Chad is being interviewed you can see me over his shoulder looking very smiley indeed!! Cheers roadrunner for letting us know that they were on the show, we had a great time!! From Verity White Not just TRL, Nickelback were also on GMTV recently… and you can check out a couple of photos of them with the Silver Side Up triple platinum discs they were presented with HERE. Don’t forget to enter our competition to win your own personalised disc in our FREE SHIT area – comp ends on Saturday night! Did you miss Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge with Nickelback this week? Fear not, you can check it all out on the Radio 1 site HERE. And also, our thanks to Laurence Baker, who witnessed Chad & Ryan Peake doing an awesome performance and interview for AOL, and took a few photos of the event. Check out those photos HERE. Ex-Ill Nino’s New Project

Posted on February 12, 2008

Former ILL NINO members Roger Vasquez (guitar) and Marc Rizzo (percussion) have joined forces in CORETEZ, a new project that is currently “experimenting and demoing songs” at Hell studios in New Jersey with producer Adam Hornyak. CORETEZ’s music is “a mix with the new and the old,” according to a post on the group’s newly launched web site, www.coretez.com. “You can really hear all the influences from ZEPPELIN to TITO PUENTE to SLAYER to SEVENDUST to PACO DE LUCIA. It’s a mixture of all the jams were into. We can’t wait to get out there and play for you all! Were feeling really good and anxious to get out there and TEAR SHIT UP! At the moment, the mob consists of Marc Rizzo, Roger Vasquez and Marek Niemec.” With regards to the group’s name, the band write, “the name CORETEZ represents the hardcore, heavy, rock ‘n’ roll, punk, death metal in us and also the very Latin influence in us from Salsa to Musica Flamenca to Merengue and everything in between.” www.blabbermouth.net
