We’re Coming For You

Posted on February 12, 2008

What do you know? Know that DevilDriver is on the road with Superjoint Ritual. Know that DevilDriver’s self titled debut album is hitting stores in but a week, Oct. 27th. Know that you can hear the full album we speak of now, check out www.devildriver.com/album. And last, know that Dez has an update for y’all from the road. It is as follows: How’s everybody doing? We just did three shows, and then a day off. The first show in Columbus, OH was off the hook. It was good to see people pittin’, and everyone hanging out afterwards talking to the band. Columbus, we’ll be back soon. The next night was Detroit (Harpos). I’ve played this venue before, but I’ve never seen a pit like that night in Detroit. Much respect to everyone that came out to see us in Detroit, especially the 6 or 7 of Detroit’s finest who showed up off duty and brought us a bottle of Jack Daniels. Talk about feeling welcome, DevilDriver felt right at home in Detroit. Phil from Superjoint Ritual has been giving us huge shout-outs every night. I want to personally say thank you to him, and much respect. Every night when we get off stage we sit and watch SJR, they are tight as fuck. The next night was Flint, MI at The Machine Shop. It’s a great club, the promoters and crew there treated us amazing. The show that night was incredible. In Flint we definitely had to win the crowd over, but by the 3rd song, they all had their hands in the air and the place was pittin’. Tonight we’ll be playing at The Vogue in Indianapolis. I’m already pacing back and forth waiting for tonight’s show. The tour so far has been amazing, all the members of all the bands are just hanging out, drinking, and having a good time. I’ll try to do daily dairies here forward, just had to slide into this first week of touring first. By mid next week, DevilDriver will be hoping to post some live footage up for you. By the way, the tour is called A Lethal Dose Of American Touring 2003. It’s great to be respected by a band that we respect so much…as far as I’m concerned, SJR is one of the best metal bands out there keeping heavy shit alive, and we’re doing our best to follow suit. I also want to personally thank all the street team members who have been coming out to meet the band, and help spread the word for DevilDriver. THANK YOU. Hey Cleveland, Chicago, we’re coming in a few days. Hope you guys are ready, cuz we’re fuckin’ ready. And to those of you in Milwaukee, we’ll see you at The Rave for a metal-fuckin’-throwdown. The killer debut album from DevilDriver is released on Monday Oct 27th and will be available on CD for around 퉌£11.99 from the following retailers: HMV – 퉌£2 off with your ‘Download 2003’ discount card. Order your FREE card here. VIRGIN MVC MUSIC ZONE OFFICIAL ‘ROADRAGE’ STORES – Free ‘New Shit’ sampler CD when you buy the album from one of these stores.

All is good in DevilDriver land. This morning, the brand new video for ‘I Could Care Less’ arrived in the RR UK office. Shot in LA earlier this month with PR Brown and Dez directing, it is rather cool indeed… and features a ton of band footage. Watch out for it hitting your TV screen soon, and right here online soon after. Last Thursday, October 16th, marked the first date of the new DevilDriver tour… tearing up towns across the US with Superjoint Ritual. First show was in Columbus, Ohio, and we hear it was a R.I.O.T. Next Monday, October 27th, the new album ‘DevilDriver’ hits stores in towns across the UK. Dez Fafara is back… Harder. Faster. Heavier. Darker. Be sure to check it out.

Posted on February 12, 2008

While you’re online this weekend, take a moment to check out the second batch of photos posted from the Roadrage tour – more pics from Portsmouth, and a few from Nottingham. You can see them all up in the CHIMAIRA, ILL NINO, and SPINESHANK galleries. Also up in the CHIMAIRA gallery, you can see a few photos of some of the guys while they were over in London on a promo trip earlier this year… just your usual night out on the town snapshots(!) And if you want more than photos, it’s nothing to do with Roadrage, but check out In The Pit for cool e-cards for 40 Below Summer and Hatebreed… not to mention a couple of cool competitions.

All Hallows Eve

Posted on February 12, 2008

Murderdolls…Halloween… Murderdolls…Halloween… Murderdolls…Halloween… Of course, the Murderdolls must play such a date, right? Makes sense, yes? Gotta happen, eh? Well, word is…word is that the Murderdolls will be playing this Halloween with Danzig at the San Bernadino, Ca Orange Pavilion this year, relays Mdolls guitarist Acey Slade. Speaking of Acey…2 years ago at this time (on Halloween), he was opening for Alice Cooper. True. Less than 2 weeks ago he was playing with Hanoi Rocks in London. True. To Halloween. As Acey says, “rock like fuck.”

Metal Moses

Posted on February 12, 2008

Check out this review just in of Roadrage in Sweden… thanks for writing to us Johan! “Hi! I saw Roadrage 2003 Wednesday, Oct 8th and it was a kickass show. It was in Stockholm Sweden btw and it had everything I want in a show!! 3 of my absolute favourite bands, I mean Chimaira, Ill Nino and Spineshank, it can퉌Çt go wrong. The whole croud was insane for all the acts and I have to say that the coolest moment was when Chimaira’s singer asked the crowed to split in half and when he counted to three we all went insane! He called himself metal-moses and it was awesome! Chimaira was my favourite band of all the three and I wasn퉌Çt disappointed! I have to say that Pure Hatred is one of my favourite songs with them and it was great… anyway I was in the pit through all the three shows, I like it there the most, it’s where I get my aggressions out.. and no one (mostly) gets hurt.. I like it.. full energy for about 3 hours (?) I think.. it’s the best.. and one of the things I like most is that those bands aren퉌Çt that big (don퉌Çt get me wrong.. they’re big but not too big) and you can tell that they are really thankful for what they do, great contact with the audience.. It was the second time I saw Ill Nino and this time it was better I think. Last time I saw them they were opening for P.O.D, but as I said, this time it was better..don퉌Çt know why really.. If it퉌Çs something I miss it’s stagediving but maby they aren퉌Çt allowed to…too bad. Anyways great show and I can퉌Çt wait for next years tour and the bands that are coming!!” Johan, Stockholm Sweden
