Hard-rocking Southern band BLACK STONE CHERRY will be on Xbox LIVE

Newcomers MUTINY WITHIN checked in with our NYC office recently about their progress in the studio of their upcoming debut and about who their recording neighbours are!!

“The rhythm guitars are almost finished! We’ve got 11 of 15 songs nailed. The tone sounds amazing and Jason has done an excellent job of pushing for the best performance.

Deicide is in the studio next to us, working on their new album with Mark Lewis. Their guitar tones are sounding great as well, and their drums are insane. Chris, being the only guy in our band who is interested in music production, has been learning a lot from Mark and Jason. Those guys really know their stuff.

Tommy Jones from The Studio arrived here last night, he’ll be hanging with us until Wednesday night. He’s got all of his video equipment with him, should make for some awesome footage.

We’re all very proud of Jason. He’s been doing a great job with his “hamster diet plan,” he’s losing a ton of weight. Also, Ron and him have officially quit smoking cigarettes! Good job guys, keep it up.

In the upcoming weeks, we’ll try to upload some pictures and video footage from the studio. Gotta run, we’re about to start recording the rhythm guitars for song #12.”

Shawn, Chris and Dave have been updating the ole blog on the official MEGADETH MySpace again, documenting their festive season and also, the progress they are making on the new album, due out later this year.

The single is taken from their current album THE ILLUSION OF PROGRESS and will be available digitally from JANUARY 26th from the usual outlets. The release will coincide with the guys finishing off their upcoming UK head line tour, which kicks off in Belfast on the 18th JANUARY. Tickets are on sale now and the full dates are as follows:

AMANDA PALMER kept herself busy over the festive season, recording a cool video for the track What’s The Use Of Wond’rin’, taken from her debut solo album WHO KILLED AMANDA PALMER. The track is a cover of the song of the same title which features in the musical Carousel.

In a MYSPACE UK exclusive, BLACK STONE CHERRY got all festive back-stage at Brixton Academy and did their own version of Santa Claus is Coming To Town.
