This week MTV launched WORLD STAGE, a new series of shows to be broadcast on Friday nights on MTV across 162 countries. The show will showcase killer shows shot in high definition, and one of the first to premier will be Roadrunner’s own SLIPKNOT

As the recording process goes on, the DEVILDRIVER continue to blog on their OFFICIAL MYSPACE. This time, guitarist Mike Spreizer fills us in on how things are going:

“Drums and bass are all done. I started recording solos yesterday and hope to have them done by the end of the week. I can tell you that this record is full of guitar solos. Way more than any other record we have ever done. I personally feel a heightened sense of pride with this record. We all put more effort than ever into this one and it is definitely paying off…”

Robb Flynn has checked in from the road for the bands OFFICIAL MYSPACE blog, talking about (amongst other things) being on tour with Metallica.

“We’re out with Metallica right now in America (that’s right bitches!!… main support to METALL-I-FUCKIN’-CA in America!!!) and we’re super stoked about it! Most of those shows have been pretty sweet…The stage is cool too. Having played in the corner of a room for over half of my life, it took some getting used to playing in-the-round, or, “in-the-rectangle” if you wanna get technical. First night in L.A. was a disaster, but after that we got it down. We definitely command it now, and we *have* to COMMAND it. If we don’t, it’s so easy to just get lost up on that giant stage, and lose the attention of an audience who, for the most part, have never even heard of us…”

On last nights Zane Lowe show on Radio 1, SLIPKNOT‘S Corey Taylor confirmed the band will be headlining this years DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL. Label mates DRAGONFORCE and DEVILDRIVER will also be on pit inducing duties at the fest, which will take place at Castle Donnington June 12, 13 and 14th 2009.

MEGADETH‘s Shawn Drover updated the bands OFFICIAL MYSPACE blog over the weekend as he prepared to fly across the pond for the Priest Feast!

“I think it is actually good timing to go out on tour for a bit and step back from the record for a short period. Lots of ideas can come out of being in a different surrounding’s, etc. so we will see what happens with that – If nothing else, (and for totally selfish reasons) being on tour with Priest and Testament is going to be an absolute blast for me. Once this tour leg is completed, Dave and Chris will be back in the studio with Andy Sneap getting this new piece of Heavy Metal finished….”
