“…with their new album, Congregation of the Damned, Atreyu blows all preconceptions out of the water, commanding us yet again to expect the unexpected. Not only is the record more like a well-crafted continuation of the minefield-strewn path they were on when they recorded 2006’s ‘A Death-Grip on Yesterday’, it’s filled with some of the band’s darkest, most political material to date. Not only have Atreyu been fueled by their passion, they’ve been motivated by their determination to point out the ugliness they’ve witnessed all around them. Hence, the album title.

“Our leaders have screwed us,” explains Varkatzas. “We’ve started wars, we’re in a recession and we’re trying to fistfuck other countries into oblivion. America’s getting by on doing a lot of things in the name of God. George Bush got away with a lot of shit by throwing Jesus into the mix: ‘God wants me to do this’. So instead of being a beautiful church congregation, we’re a congregation of the damned. We’re in such a scary place right now, I’ve never felt this sense of tension before – and that’s in the music.”

SATYRICON follow their incendiary performance at this year’s Bloodstock Festival with another rare UK show this winter at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. The London show is part of the ‘Finale In Black’ tour, which runs through Europe during the month of December. London is the final date of the tour.

The Norwegian ground-breakers’ current album, ‘The Age Of Nero’ was released to resounding critical acclaim last year and saw the band gracing the cover of rock weekly Kerrang! and picking up top rated reviews across the board at core metal press.

Frontman, guitarist and visionary Satyr is looking forward to the band’s return, stating,

“Due to our insanely hectic schedule we have not been able to visit many places as often as we would have wanted to and the UK is definitely one of those places. The electric atmosphere at this years Bloodstock Open Air have made us single out the London show on our upcoming European tour as one of the absolute highlights we will look forward to. It will truly be the Finale In Black!”

Following their sold out arena tour earlier this year, which culminated in a SOLD OUT show at the O2 Arena, NICKELBACK will be bringing their pyro-laden, blockbuster of a stage show back to the UK early in 2010. A new single will be released around the dates- more news on that coming soon!

Here it is, as promised- this is KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES and their new track YOUNGBLOOD (LET IT OUT.

This is the first track to be released from their upcoming new album, which is set for a release early 2010. The album, which is yet to be titled, is currently having the finishing touches applied at a studio down in Essex, after having the bulk of the material laid down in El Paso, Texas over the summer.

The band could not be more excited about getting the first track from the record out to the public. Comments Aled:

“It’s been a long time coming but at least I can say ‘I told you so’ to all the people I bigged the song up to [laughs].”

When they were at the Reading / Leeds festival, we caught up with ALEXISONFIRE to chat to them about their upcoming run on the Eastpak Antidote tour, which will take the band through most of mainland Europe as well as the UK.

Well, we attempted to chat to them. By the time we had finished asking them to talk about each of the mainland Euro shows we were all collapsing into too many fits of giggles to be coherent. So here we present George and Wade- the outtakes. Just remember the point to all of this is that the band will be playing the following shows next month here in the UK, and tickets are on sale now!
