GETTING TO KNOW YOU- CHRIS BABBITT (TAKING DAWN)

Posted on January 23, 2010

This is the last in our Getting To Know You series here on Roadrunner UK and in this one we hand you over to another of our rising stars, who delivered quite possibly the most entertaining Getting To Know You yet!

Allow us to introduce to you Chris Babbitt, the vocalist from newbies TAKING DAWN. You’re gonna love these guys…

What were you doing when we interrupted you to do this interview?
Cleaning and watching the new Star Trek (well, and touching myself but that’s pretty much the same as watching the new Star Trek, FUCK that movie is good! And frankly, when am I NOT touching myself?)

Date of Birth?
11-11

Where did you go to school?
Bishop Gorman High School; University of Las Vegas Nevada

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I’ll never grow up… but the answer is the next Hulk Hogan

Tell us a little about your first band…
7th FUCKING Son! I was 18 and we sounded like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Shadows Fall wrapped in one (3 of my all time fave bands). I loved the music we were writing, but it limited where I wanted to go, and I don’t do well with boundaries. I decided to keep the Maiden harmonies and Megadeth solos because I bleed metal, but I can’t escape that I’m rock’n’roll down to the bone.

Track of the moment?
Lady Gaga-I Like It Rough or Shakira-SheWolf

Album of the moment?
Steel Prophet-Messiah (most under-appreciated metal record EVER) or Eminem-Relapse

Beverage of choice?
Pussyjuice Cocktail or Diet Coke [ed.- we Googled the cocktail for the curious: Captain Morgan’s, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Lime Juice, Grenadine, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice. There are other definitions, but we are assuming the beverage…]

Food of choice
Pussy or…well, let’s face it, PUSSY

Movie of the moment?
40 Year Old Virgin or Avatar…12 foot, half naked, blue broads that don’t speak english, alll riiight…GIGGITY!

Highlight of your career so far?
The triplets in Vancouver, The reverend’s daughter in Knoxville, or that tranny from Philly (in pepsi/coke taste-test you’ll never guess she was a man… I mean, it’s not gay if it’s post-op, right?

Random Fact?
I have one matching freckle on each of my eyelids…and another on my 😉

Watch this space for more on Taking Dawn REAL soon…
