When NICKELBACK were in town recently, we sat down in their dressing room to catch up with bassist Mike to ask about how the Dark Horse tour has been going and what keeps the band out there on the road. In other news, the band recently played the closing ceremony of the 2010 winter Olympics (see that amazing live footage HERE) and have expanded their tour into June with more dates across the USA.

DRAGONFORCE PART WAYS WITH SINGER ZP THEART

It is with great regret that DRAGONFORCE announce a parting of the ways with singer ZP Theart. This is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion but the rest of the band sincerely wish ZP great success with his future projects.

While the creative core members have begun writing the fifth album, they have also started a worldwide search for a new vocalist. “We are looking for a powerful melodic singer, to write a new chapter of DragonForce with us.” said guitarist Herman Li.

Anyone wishing to audition for the vacant position should apply following the instructions at HERE.

THEORY OF A DEADMAN TO RELEASE SINGLE ‘SO HAPPY’ APRIL 4TH

THEORY OF A DEADMAN hit the UK on a headline tour in April, kicking things off in Leeds on Saturday April 3rd and making their way through the major towns and cities to the tours finale in London on April 9th.

The band will release digital single So Happy on April 4th to coincide with the tour and you will be able to pick this up at all the usual digital platforms.

The track is from the current album Scars & Souvenirs, which is in stores now (Click here to buy online) and is available as a standard CD, standard digital edition and digital sepcial edition.

DISCOGRAPHY: MACHINE HEAD PT1- ROBB TALKS BURN MY EYES

Today we are kicking off another new Roadrunner UK exclusive series!

In this series- DISCOGRAPHY– we will be sitting down with our established artists and talking about each of the albums in their catalogue, be that focusing on the vibe around the album, it’s recording, the touring of the album or all of the above.

To kick-start this series we sat down with Robb Flynn, frontman with Bay Area thrashers MACHINE HEAD to talk about the bands releases. We start today with Robb talking about seminal album Burn My Eyes, which was released back in 1994.

DRAGONFORCE’S HERMAN LI CONFIRMS GUITAR CLINICS

DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li is embarking on an Ibanez sponsored guitar workshop tour in Europe this month. Apart from showcasing his unique playing style, Herman will answer questions from the audience and talk about everything from performance techniques, to the business side of the music industry.

‘I really want to encourage people to come to these workshops not just to sit and watch, but to participate and ask questions to get as much as they can from this experience.’

COHEED AND CAMBRIA TO RELEASE ‘THE BROKEN’ AS A DIGITAL SINGLE

The Broken is to the the first single to be released from COHEED AND CAMBRIA’S forthcoming album Year Of The Black Rainbow, which hits stores on April 12.

RATT TO PLAY RELEASE SHOW ON LA STRIP

Renowned Los Angeles rock band RATT will return to the Sunset Strip for a night of rock n’ roll debauchery at the Key Club on Tuesday, April 20th.

The special event, which will include a set from the iconic band, will celebrate the release of the band’s first new album in 11 years: Infestation which hits streets the very same day in the USA and features the incredibly infectious single, “Best Of Me”. The album will be available here in the UK April 19th.
