SLIPKNOT’S ‘ANTENNAS TO HELL’ OUT TODAY!

Posted on July 23, 2012

SLIPKNOT
release ‘Antennas To Hell’ today in the UK and some reviews have started to pop up online. Check out some extracts from some of those reviews below:

Their output is consistently invigorating, infallible, and immortal—from 1999’s revolutionary self-titled debut, to 2001’s death metal-infused middle finger to the world Iowa, to 2004’s timeless epic Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses, and finally to 2008’s brilliant war on everyone All Hope Is Gone. Their track record continues to be flawless and, unlike many of their contemporaries, they’ve outlasted nu metal, metalcore, and any other trends imaginable. They’re rock’s proverbial last men standing, and Antennas to Hell perfectly covers their now legendary career with highlights from each release and some mind-blowing bonuses.

If you are a Slipknot fan, obsessive or newbie there is something for everyone to be found and enjoyed in this package, even if you own all the songs already, then the bonus material will be more than enough to warrant the double dip. If you’re a new fan then this is the perfect first step in getting into the band. Either way you slice it or dice it, “Antennas to Hell” is a must purchase package and will tide you over until the band unleashes its fifth studio album in the future.

Long after numbers 0-8 have gone their separate ways this definitive Best Of will stand the test of time as an example of how metal evolved throughout the noughties – adding a fresh twist to the genre’s finest traditions and reinventing a wheel that just keeps on turning.

Irrelevant of whether you like them or not, Slipknot have to be respected as one of the most important metal bands of recent times, given the impact they have had outside of the genre (something very few extreme bands can claim). Antennas To Hell will hopefully give people a chance to go back and judge the band purely on the music they have produced in the last thirteen years rather than the ridiculous circus that has been played out in the press in that time.

‘Antennas To Hell’ is the perfect compilation and exactly what I wish for from a ‘Greatest Hits’. It would be great if other bands could follow suit from this megalith of a milestone set by Slipknot. í¢ìäó_í¢ìäó_í¢ìäó_í¢ìäó_í¢ìäó_
