Mastodon have been confirmed for Download Festival 2013 by Andrew Copping on Twitter. This news comes only days after the announcement that Stone Sour have also been added to the bill. With Slipknot headlining the Friday night Download 2013 is shaping up to be an unmissable line-up. Mastodon will be playing the Main Stage on the Saturday of Download under Iron Maiden, QOTSA, Motorhead & Alice In Chains.

It was announced yesterday that Rush would be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame! Rush will be joined by Heart, Public Enemy, Randy Newman, Donna Summer & Albert King in the Class of 2013. The ceremony will take place on the 18th April 2013 in Los Angeles. Geddy Lee spoke with Rolling Stone about their induction, saying that it had made his “mom very happy” & that they will “show up smiling.”

At last night’s sold out Stone Sour show in London. Corey Taylor announced that the band will be playing Download Festival 2013. This was quickly confirmed by Download head honcho Andy Copping via Twitter. Stone Sour will be playing the Main Stage on Sunday, directly underneath Gaslight Anthem.
With Slipknot headlining the Friday, Download 2013 is already shaping up to be one hell of a festival!
