Kvelertak have released the official music video for “Nattesferd,” the title track from their acclaimed new LP which arrived this past May. The otherworldly clip – produced by Norwegian production company Bacon and directed by Jakob Marky – is streaming now at Kvelertak.com and on the band’s official YouTube channel. The video was filmed in Fårö, a Baltic Sea island off the south eastern coast of Sweden where Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman lived / died and made several films, among them Through a Glass Darkly (1961), Persona (1966), Hour of the Wolf (1968), Shame (1968), The Passion of Anna (1969), and Scenes from a Marriage (1972).
Marky, a recent winner of the prestigious After Bergman Award which allowed the possibility of filming on Fårö, commented on the video stating, “I wanted to make something circular, as the track has it’s never-ending guitars, coming back to haunt you. I very much liked the idea of filming science fiction on the same places that Tarkovsky and Bergman visited. I think both of them were very big fans of the golden triangle too, or so I heard.”
Heading into 2016 NATTESFERD garnered “Most Anticipated” accolades from Rolling Stone, Stereogum and Consequence of Sound and now only a month since its release Kvelertak’s new LP is already receiving “Best of 2016” praises. SPIN recently placed the album’s lead single “1985” at #17 on their ‘66 Best Songs of 2016 So Far’ list proclaiming, “Let’s savor the fact we may never again hear a wedding of caramel and barbed wire quite like this ever again,” while Consequence of Sound put NATTESFERD at #5 on their ‘Top 10 Metal Albums of 2016 So Far’ declaring “NATTESFERD is the most fun you’ll have this year listening to metal.” Stereogum picked NATTESFERD as the #16 album on their “50 Best Albums Of 2016 So Far” recap stating, “…it’s an exhilarating invitation to a whole other world,” and Rolling Stone hailed the collection asserting, “Whether it’s juggling black-metal blast beats and Eighties-influenced power-rock riffs or indulging three-guitar Iron Maiden-esque prog-rock tapestries, everything they do sounds effortless.” NATTESFERD is available now at Kvelertak.com and at all DSPs.
Recorded live in Oslo, Norway’s Amper Tone Studio, NATTESFERD is produced by Kvelertak and mixed / engineered by Nick Terry (Lindstrøm, Turbonegro, The Libertines). It is the first of Kvelertak’s albums to be recorded in their home country of Norway. NATTESFERD follows 2013’s MEIR which made a stunning international impact, earning the six-piece numerous “Best of 2013” honors. Both Rolling Stone and SPIN placed “MEIR” at #2 on their ‘Best Metal Albums of 2013’ recaps, while The New York Times’ Ben Ratliff picked standout track “Spring Fra Livet” as one of his ‘Top Songs of 2013’. Additionally, MEIR landed at #15 on Stereogum’s ‘50 Best Albums of 2013,’ and came in at #4 on Revolver’s ‘20 Best Albums of 2013’ list.

Roadrunner Records is excited to announce the signing of Minneapolis, MN’s Out Came The Wolves. The band – Cameron Burns (Vocals), George Shrouder (Guitar), Austin Brady (Guitar) and Ervin Buljubasic (Bass) – have also released a digital single comprised of tracks “96” and “Queen Mary,” which is available now at all DSPs. “Queen Mary” is accompanied by a new official music video which is streaming now on Out Came The Wolves official YouTube channel. Both tracks will appear on the band’s debut LP due out later this Fall.
Frontman Cameron Burns commented on the band’s signing, “I’ve grown up listening to bands on Roadrunner Records and it’s truly a dream come true to be a part of their family and work with them. I’ve always been that kid in the crowd losing my voice to bands on stage and now I get to show the world what Out Came The Wolves is made of.” Guitarist George Shrouder added, “We have unanimously looked up to Roadrunner bands our entire lives. Having the opportunity partner up with the best label in the world is a dream come true.”
This summer Out Came The Wolves will join Myka Relocate on a U.S. trek which is set to get underway June 15th in Salt Lake City, UT at Billboard Live and continue through mid-July. Out Came The Wolves recently wrapped an extensive U.S. tour supporting The Word Alive and were recently selected for Taco Bell’s “Feed The Beat” program.
Out Came The Wolves began turning heads in 2013, selling out local venues throughout the Midwest which eventually lead to support slots on hometown bills with acts such Asking Alexandria, August Burns Red and We Came As Romans. Praised for their electrifying mix of modern rock and post hardcore, Out Came The Wolves will release their debut LP for Roadrunner Records later this Fall.
First conceived as an indie importer of metal albums in 1980, Roadrunner Records has grown into the most significant and innovative label in heavy music culture. Out Came The Wolves will continue to further the label’s already historic legacy.
It has been announced this morning that Creeper will be taking to the road again in October for a huge UK and Europe tour with LetLive. and Pierce The Veil. Check out the full run down of dates and grab your tickets right here!
Recognized globally as one of the most prolific drummers in metal, Joey Jordison and his new band VIMIC – Kalen Chase [Vocals], Jed Simon [Guitar/Vocals], Kyle Konkiel [Bass/Vocals] and Matt Tarach [Keyboards] – have revealed “My Fate.” The latest track to be released off VIMIC’s forthcoming debut LP OPEN YOUR OMEN, “My Fate” is streaming now accompanied by an official music video directed by Max Moore at VIMICmusic.com and available today at all DSPs.
“My Fate,” which follows VIMIC’s previously released tracks “She Sees Everything” and “Simple Skeletons,” made its official debut yesterday on SiriusXM’s Octane. All three tracks are taken from VIMIC’s debut LP OPEN YOUR OMEN which is set to arrive later this year on Roadrunner Records.
Earlier this month, Jordison spoke with Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal host José Mangin about forming VIMIC and the significance of the band’s forthcoming album. “I decided that I really wanted to start fresh. I did not want to keep rehashing some old ideas, if I’m going to keep going I really want to break loose, wipe the slate clean and start fresh,” Jordison stated. “We went into the studio with (producer) Kato Khandwala and started hashing it out… kind of old school. We went in and said, ‘let’s just go back to being in the studio, jamming as a band, getting together with our instruments… and just creating from the ground up. That was one of the coolest things about creating this record.’”
Recorded at Sound Farm Studios in Jamaica, Iowa, OPEN YOUR OMEN was produced, mixed and mastered by Kato Khandwala whose production and engineering credits include My Chemical Romance, Blondie, Breaking Benjamin, Paramore, The Pretty Reckless and more.
The career of Joey Jordison is one that, by any measure, stands among the most creative, and impressive in the history of modern American metal. It is a career that really has been many careers – musician, songwriter, and producer – from small town beginnings to global prominence. Jordison’s journey has included an extraordinary string of hits, 11 platinum and 40 gold records, and a Grammy Award as well as numerous industry accolades for his top tier musicianship and, above all, an immeasurable influence on countless fellow artists and passionate fans around the world.
