The multi-platinum Grammy-winning rock band KORN have unveiled the strange and fascinating video for “Insane”. Directed by Ryan Valdez, it’s a ghastly take on post-mordem photography or ‘momento mori,’ the practice of preserving loved ones after death with images.
Filled with heavily distorted riffs and bloodcurdling deep growls, “Insane”—which is available at all DSP’s today–appears on KORN’s 12th studio album, THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Mastodon), the album will be released on October 21 and features a special guest appearance from Corey Taylor of Slipknot. Pre-order the album here.
The first single “Rotting In Vain” has been streamed 2 million times and is fast approaching Top 10 at Rock Radio. The single’s macabre video–which is just under 4 million views–stars “Sons of Anarchy” actor Tommy Flanagan along with KORN, taps into the dark underbelly of a bizarre world.
