ZAKK WYLDE GETS A ‘ROASTING’ FROM COREY TAYLOR AND SHARON OSBOURNE!

Posted on January 22, 2012

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, ZAKK WYLDE was due to be ‘Roasted’ by COREY TAYLOR and we can now report that the roasting has taken place! Also doing the roasting was Sharon Osbourne. Zakk was on top form on the night and at one point he quipped, “Corey Taylor was in a Tenacious D cover band called Pugnacious P. Now he’s in a Nickelback cover band called Stone Sour”, showing he can give as good as he gets!

Sharon Osbourne was quoted on RollingStone.com as saying:

“I’ve got to be step on his balls tonight, I’ve known him since he was 18. He calls me ‘mum,’ and I feel like his mom. So I can be disrespectful, horrible, mean to him for two hours and get away with it. My kids grew up with Zakk. Jack was about eight months old when Zakk first came to the band. My son is now 26 and having a child, so that’s how long he’s been with us”.

Corey confirmed the good nature of the roasting by saying:

“We’ve all known each other for a while, we all love each other. So let’s just rip the crap out of each other”.

Guitar World were there to cover the night and they closed their article about the night nicely by saying:

As famed celebrity roaster Jeffrey Ross likes to say, “We only roast the ones we love,” and last night was no exception. There were few people on the stage or in the room last night that didn’t have a great ZAKK WYLDE memory, and in spite of all the vitriolic humor, there was nothing but love in the room for everyone’s favorite Viking guitarist.
