MASTODON’S BRANN DAILOR GETS HIS KIT PAINTED BY DIRTY DONNY, WITH STUNNING RESULTS…

You may have noticed in our post yesterday about MASTODON‘s studio photos, drummer Brann Dailor owns a rather colourful and most definitely awesome kit. The kit is a custom Tama and the drums were painted by an artist called Dirty Donny. Donny had the set flaked by Dennis Barraza, then Donny taped and masterly airbrushed candy on the drums. Donny has done work for MASTODON, Metallica, the Donnas, Vans, Dunlop etc. You can see his work at dirtydonny.com. In the photos and video below you can see Brann’s kit being painted by Donny and how he got the effects, including Brann’s first soundcheck with the new kit:
