ON THIS DAY IN ROADRUNNER HISTORY…

Posted on August 15, 2011

…the mighty MEGADETH played at the Susquehanna Center as part of the “American Carnage Tour”. The Waster documented the tour and had the below to say about that particular date:

“Camden, NJ — Embarking together on the “American Carnage Tour” three of the most sinfully decadent and hardest rocking metals bands on the plant combined forces to drop the hammer on the cult. Weaving their way throughout North America, Slayer and MEGADETH with special guest Testament, began in Albany on August 11 and hit 26 cities until Labor Day weekend. Rod Snyder captured the breath of the devil just outside Philadelphia in the drenching dead of summer…”

“We are considering starting an album at the end of [2008] at this point,” D’Antonio said. “We’re not gonna stop touring on this record (‘As Daylight Dies’) until at least the end of April, and I know we’re probably going to do a run of all the festivals in Europe in June and July. After that, I believe then we’re gonna start talking about writing a new record.”

The band went on to release their second self titled album in June 2009. It debuted and peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200, selling 58,000 copies in its first week, which made it the band’s highest charting album to date.
