MACHINE HEAD’S ROBB FLYNN INTERVIEW WITH ARTISAN NEWS…

Posted on August 16, 2011

MACHINE HEAD’s Robb Flynn recently met up with Artisan News to discuss the upcoming album, Unto The Locust. In the filmed clip, he discusses how he took classical guitar lessons as well as vocal lessons to prepare for this album:

“My throat was really thrashed and a little bit after that MACHINE HEAD was asked to record an Iron Maiden tribute and we chose Hallowed Be Thy Name…when we committed to it I hadn’t sung all the way through…I wasn’t really sure if I could do it. I couldn’t control it as much as I wanted to so I decided that If i’m going to do this, I’m going to own this….it was great to unlearn 17 years of bad habits. It was just so hard, jesus! To go back to feeling like a complete idiot on guitar was a cool, vulnerable place to write from.”

You can watch the full interview below:

Unto The Locust was recorded at Green Day’s Jingletown Studios in California and the Metal
Hammer fanpack is due out on the 26th of September. You can find tracklisting and pre-order
details AT THIS LOCATION.
