Cast your minds back to last week when we posted news about Revolver magazine and their special issue devoted to the “Big Four” thrash bands (Metallica, MEGADETH, Anthrax and Slayer)…as part of their coverage, the magazine has been asking the various members of each band to pick their favorite tracks by other Big Four bands and as Slayer guitarist Kerry King was a member of MEGADETH once upon a time (only briefly!), he seemed like the perfect candidate to list his favourite Megadeth songs. Here’s what he picked:
“Obviously, I love ‘Rattlehead’ cause I played it. But that first record [1985’s Killing Is My Business…and Business Is Good, featuring Rattlehead] is full of gems. I remember playing some of the riffs with those guys. We were playing songs from that and from their next record, Peace Sells…but Who’s Buying? when I played with them. The Skull Beneath the Skin [off Killing] is awesome, The Conjuring [off Peace Sells] is awesome. All kinds of great shit.”
You can see some vintage footage of the band performing the tracks that Kerry chose, below:
MEGADETH’s
latest album, TH1RT3EN, will be in stores on the 31st of October.
