MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine recently sat for an interview with writer Greg Prato; the results of which can be read on RollingStone.com.
Mustaine describes the quick recording process for the upcoming album TH1RT3EN, saying, “We only had a little bit of time to do this, and realistically, expecting a band of our nature, stature, our songwriting process, [and] the availability of all the band members – to try to squeeze a record in two months’ timeframe, who were we kidding? But we did it. Man, we worked our butts off on that. I had some seriously long days. There were some days that I woke up at my computer, with an imprint on my face from sleeping on the keyboard.”
In addition to the title track and “Public Enemy #1,” which MEGADETH recently performed live, Mustaine reveals that TH1RT3EN will also contain two songs recorded for video games – “Sudden Death,” which appeared in Guitar Hero, and “Never Dead,” which was featured in the game of the same name.
