“It is a slightly different album to what people will be used to from our previous albums.” WITHIN TEMPTATION’S demure front womam Sharon Den Adel tells about forthcoming album The Unforgiving. “We felt we had crystallised and finalised our sound on our last record and we needed to do something new to refresh our sound and give us a new style. We wanted to take down our musical boundaries and we took a lot of inspiration from the 1980s when we were all growing up. We took some 80s flavours from the heavier sounds of Iron Maiden to lighter things like Kim Wylde and Billy Idol too.”

The album, which sees a release on the 28th March, is a concept album, with the tracks forming part of a muti-media presentation of album, comic and 3 short films. “It is a conceptual album but not in the way Pink Floyd did in the 1970s but it is a soundtrack to go along with the comic it is based on.” she elaborates.
