30 YEARS OF ROADRUNNER- WE SPEAK TO MIKE D’ANTONIO

Posted on December 24, 2010

2010 was Roadrunner’s 30th year and so we have been checking in with some of our artists about what they see as the highlights of the past 30 years, their career highlights and what the future holds. Following on from Joey Jordison, Phil Demmel and Max Cavalera, todays installment of 30 Years Of Roadrunner is brought to you by Killswitch Engage bassist Mike D…

In 30 years you will be…
Doing Graphic Design from an old age home.

Best music moments of the last 30 years.
Seeing Beastie Boys in 1991 on my birthday on the Check Your Head Tour. The entire crowd was jumping…. it was off the charts.

Highlight of your career thus far?
Playing Wacken to 80,000 people. I was so worried we were not “metal” enough for that fest. It ended up being one of the funniest shows I have ever played!

Crappiest moment in music in the last 30 years.
George Bush getting elected for a second term… I have never felt so lost in my whole life.

Album from your generation that will be legendary in 30 years.
Kyuss Welcome To Sky Valley – premium desert rock at its finest. You can’t do better than this record.

Roadrunner classic album.
Life Of Agony ‘River Runs Red’ will always be my favourite record on RR. Amazing from beginning to end – minus all the in-between song ‘theatrics’. What makes it a classic? The brutality of that record, the crushing guitar tone…. and of course the RIFFS – some of the best out there…. bang your head!

Latest release from KsE- is their self titled opus ‘Killswitch Engage‘. Pick it up online here or over at iTunes.
