ALTSOUNDS caught up with MURDERDOLLS recently to chat with them about their forthcoming album WOMEN AND CHILDREN LAST. As well as chatting about the album and Mick Mar’s appearance on the record , they also discussed the broader subject of Rock n Roll…
“There really isn’t a rock’n’roll scene right now,” commented Wednesday, “there’s an underground rock’n’roll scene that I’ve seen, with some really good bands and some cool people that I know, but there’s not much in the way of rock’n’roll in the spirit that we see it. We come from the old school, we grew up watching Kiss and Alice Cooper and stuff like that, we grew up watching live shows, and that’s what we do. There’s no band out there that portrays what I think is rock’n’roll. That’s why we came out with this record and our mission is to bring it back. We know what it is, but some of these kids have no idea what we’re talking about or where it comes from.”
It should come as no surprise then that with the return of Murderdolls and the release of the new record, the guys hope to bring back some of the spirit they feel is lacking from the current rock/metal ‘scene’.
“I think [Women And Children Last] represents what rock’n’roll was and what we think it should be today, Wednesday continues,
