SLASH TALKS ABOUT THE UPCOMING RECORD

Posted on November 10, 2009

Blabbermouth have reported on a recent blog from SLASH made recently about an upcoming fundraiser in LA. Within the statement, Slash talks about his upcoming his Roadrunner release, saying:

The tracking for my [solo] record is completely done and we only have three songs left to mix. I’m extremely happy about how the whole thing turned out, I think you’re going to dig it.”

Slash tapped ALTER BRIDGE’s Myles Kennedy to sing on the final song of the legendary VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist’s upcoming self-titled solo album, due in Europe in early 2010 via Roadrunner Records. “This track is awesome, [and] it completes the record,” Slash wrote on his Twitter page. “Myles did an amazing job and the song is fucking great.”

Slash told MusicRadar.com last week that he got almost every special guest he wanted to appear on his upcoming solo album, except for one: WHITE STRIPES singer/guitarist and DEAD WEATHER drummer Jack White. Slash revealed, “I wanted to get Jack White to sing on something, but he didn’t want to sing. He said I’ll play drums, I’ll play guitar, but I don’t wanna sing. He was one guy that I wanted to work with. Pretty much everyone else that I went after I managed to get.”

We can confirm that as also reported by the site, the standard album release will be preceded by a “fan pack,” in which the album will be bundled together with a highly collectable special issue of Classic Rock Magazine dedicated to Slash’s career. This will be the first format of the album available anywhere in the world. This was announced at last weeks Classic Rock Awards.
