WHAT’S ON YOUR IPOD- PAOLO GREGOLETTO (TRIVIUM)

Posted on September 5, 2009

This week, we handed the challenge of the iPod shuffle to Paolo, bassist with TRIVIUM. We think he get’s the award for the most mixed bag of tracks. What do you think??

Disdrive (Rework) by 80 Kidz
This band/group/DJs fucking rule. I randomly picked this album up at an HMV in Tokyo because the album art was weird and the title of the album was great (THIS IS MY SHIT.) I have honestly never listened to Electronica before this album and it has totally opened my eyes up to a whole new genre of music. This song has so much energy and the melodies rule!

Why It Hurts by Coroner
I swear every time I do one of these iPod shuffle things this band pops up. Maybe it’s because my iPod realizes how badass this band is and it’s a sign that I should listen to it more often. They have a lot of the same qualities that I love about Death, very avantgarde (thanks Webster’s dictionary), thrashy badass riffs, and those mid/high range screams that I love.

The Rocker by Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy are amazing, if you haven’t heard them you should be slapped. I am going to put them on my top 5 bands to party to list. They could make music about tough guy shit and then turn around and croon heart felt love songs. This is a must have music for any situation at a bar, drinking or fighting.

Nothing But The Best by Frank Sinatra
This man knew how to live, and when I hear this song I just want to snap my fingers and drink some fine whiskey. This song has the big band 40’s/50’s vibe and just sounds so huge and timeless even by today’s standards. If I could go back in time and party with anyone, it would be Frank Sinatra. He was truly rock ‘n roll in every way even before the genre was even coined. It’s so easy to get lost in his music and just lounge around all day with headphones on. This is also great flying music by the way, I don’t know what it is but it just chills me out and feel like I’m going on an adventure (Come Fly With Me – rock this on your next trip to your grandparents home.)

The Prophecy by Iron Maiden
This is such an amazing album! Some of my favorite Maiden songs like Evil That Men Do, The Clairvoyant, Can I Play with Madness… fuck it the whole album is great. Iron Maiden if you read this please play Seventh Son of a Seventh Son from start to finish some time!!!!!! Number one air bass band?? I think so.

Trivium return to the UK in March for a headline tour (tickets on sale NOW- check dates HERE) in support of current album SHOGUN. Click HERE for details of the album and to buy online.
