Disasterpieces – The Launch – Pt 1

Posted on February 12, 2008

On November 1st in New York City, the Roadrunner US office led a ‘Maggot March’ to promote the upcoming Slipknot DVD. For those who were not there, this was a spectacle which needs to be seen to be believed – hundreds of fans and industry folk in the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center, all celebrating and watching the upcoming Slipknot ‘Disasterpieces’ DVD. The atmosphere was a total carnival – hot dog, candy floss & popcorn stands, fire breathers, a man hammering nails up his nose, giveaways, a belly dancer, three bars (of course), and a bug eating chick. Clown, Paul, Chris, and Craig from Slipknot were present – all gathered on stage to introduce the DVD. We present to you the first of a two part video installment showing this party to all who could not attend, and to those who wish to re-live the experience. WATCH IT HERE. Did You Know? There was a maggot at the event by the name of Joe (dressed in the perfect Clown get up). Joe was the FIRST person in line that day, arriving at 5am. Joe has a (sic) tattoo on his right leg. All four members of Slipknot autographed the tattoo, as Joe had plans of turning the autographs into tattoos the very next day. You can also check out the Slipknot Photo Gallery for a few pics from the night.

Murderdolls London Exclusive

Posted on February 12, 2008

Last night, November 7th, saw the Murderdolls conclude their UK dates, following an instore signing by playing with Papa Roach at London’s Brixton Academy. And it was most definitely a stormin’ set, the band blasting through Dead In Hollywood, 197666, Let’s F*ck, I Love To Say F*ck, Slit My Wrist, Mr Motherf*cker, amongst other glamtastic tunes. Not only that, but Papa Roach’s set had a little surprise… the one and only Joey Jordison joining Coby & co onstage behind the drums for a song. And we have exclusive photos. Check ’em out in the Murderdolls PHOTO GALLERY. More live and behind the scenes photos and video… yes, video… to come early next week.

Roadrage Ripping Up Vienna

Posted on February 12, 2008

We have such jet-setting e-teamers… following on from UK teamer Steve’s US report on Sinch and Stone Sour, here’s a recent writeup on the Roadrage Tour in Vienna, by our very own teamer Oli Porter. Thanks for the words Oli! Hi guys, just thought I’d let you know how great the Roadrage show in Vienna was!! Considering the venue was a former slaughterhouse and smaller than the London Garage to boot, all three bands went down really well. I managed to find the gig just as 36 Crazyfists came on stage, they sounded great, just as good as the CD! After the set I was having a drink at the bar when I met Tom the drummer from Killswitch Engage, which was cool, he said he would try and remember to tell Kirsten I said hi but we both decided that he would forget! Five Pointe 0 were up next, they went down like a storm with the crowd who started a bit of a mosh pit although when I joined in they all looked scared and decided they had had enough of that! Halfway through the set I went back to the bar where I had the pleasure of meeting Brock from 36 Crazyfists. He is one cool guy, I got some pictures which I’ll email when they get developed! The band of the night though were undoubtably Killswitch Engage, opening with Numbered Days the guys proceeded to put on one of the best shows I have seen in a long time finishing with My Last Serenade after which singer Howard was really moved by the crowds reaction that they even played an impromtu encore, seeming reluctant to leave the stage as the Austrian crowd screamed for more. All in all an amazing gig, we hung out with some of the guys from all three bands at the bar and they are really looking forward to the London show! I wish I could be there! Oli Porter (UK e-team) Roadrage returns to the UK November 22nd.
