Fuck Yeah

Posted on February 12, 2008

All that I will tell you about the new Machine Head demo is that: THE GUITARS ARE FUCKIIIIIIIING BACK!!!!!! We’re talking B-I-G, fat, meaty, slicing fuckin’ guitars. The type of guitars that have the painful frequency that hurts your ears, and rips your head off in sweet, sweet, painful bliss. Ahrue eat your heart out. FUCK YEAH!!!!!! We’re talking guitars like concrete slabs. We’re talking drums like concussion mortars. We’re talking bass so heavy it’ll make your testicles / ovaries ache. We’re talking melodies so sad, and mellower moments so lonely, that you’re gonna weep tears of joy, in a fit of depressed glee, while babbling mindlessly with your thumb in your mouth, looking for your fucking nook-nook. FUCK YEAH!!!!! We’re talking Molten Metal Hot Lava from the Super Satanic Sacred Volcano located in the Bowels of Fucking Hell!!!!!!!! Or something…… And…… even some LEADS are back. And not just any old leads, we’re talking 2 part shredder leads ……. IN HARMONY!!!!! We’re talking sick, sick beats, with fills galore. We’re talking Adam doing a bass riff so crazy, it’s done with Eddie Van Halen finger taps, and Cliff Burton wah-wah. I call him Eddie Van Burton. FUCK YEAH!!!!!! UNLEASH THE KRACKEN!!!!!!! This shit’s like goddamn Master’s era – Metallica!……..only slower…….and not like Metallica. FUCK YEAH!!!!!!! In other news: Colin Richardson absolutely “RULED” the Live album. He made “HellaLive” sound in- fucking – credible. Plus, comin’ at cha’ soon, we have a kick ass video for “The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears”. Shot at the 2002 -With Full Force festival, it was MH’s “first ever” headlining festival slot, in front of 20,000 + maniacal “Head” fanatics, and it turned out really good. Last but not least, We have listened to your requests, we have heard your pleas, and, we have heeded your advice. Soon, we will be having a “Studio” section on the web site. With video footage, pictures, rehearsals, recording, snippets of new songs, weekly e-mail updates from the band, and bi-monthly video updates, that will essentially document the making of our new album from demos to album, with all the ups and downs in between. We are very excited about this, and want to thank everyone who pestered us to get off our butts and do this. Thank you fuckerz! FUCK YEAH!!!!!! AND ( just so I can say “fucking” one more time. ) THE RAIDERS!!!!! ARE IN THE FUCKIIIIIIING!!!!!!!! SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO – HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!! -Robert Flynn www.machinehead1.com

We’re Sulking

Posted on February 12, 2008

Here at the RR UK office we recently got to hear one brand new Chimaira demo from the forthcoming album The Impossibility Of Reason. Why are we sulking? We’re sulking because we only got to hear 1 track. That track was so utterly kick ass fuckin’ awesome we want to hear more. But we can’t. That 1 track is the only one currently on this side of the ocean. If you’d heard it, you’d be sulking too. Kick ass new Chimaira album out April 28th… more to come.

The Sounds Of Spineshank

Posted on February 12, 2008

Just a note, for if any of us were there in the Roadrunner NY office yesterday afternoon, this would have been the only thing on our minds: an unmixed version of the upcoming Spineshank album (Self Destructive Pattern) was being blasted from the conference room. Echoing throughout the cubicles and hallways, this was literally the only thing you could hear we are told. Reports in say this album will be well worth the wait. Damn. Are you as jealous as we are?

Music To Drink Beer To

Posted on February 12, 2008

As this is being written, the boys from Chimaira are waiting on initial test mixes for songs from the upcoming The Impossibility Of Reason, and vocalist Mark Hunter is putting together the artwork for this project with Garret Zunt…which, sneak peaks seen of the art look great. Speaking of great, check out the following article online from the Cleveland Scene – a local Cleveland publication from Chimaira’s hometown. A pretty cool piece giving insight into the making of their new album – past, present, and future. Well worth your time to read. Check it out online HERE. All rise for the new birth of metal…

Tracking Complete

Posted on February 12, 2008

The latest from the recording of Spineshank’s new album, as told by drummer Tommy Decker: We are finished tracking the record!!!! Happy new year everybody. the last time I had given you an update, we had just gotten back from Vancouver to take a holiday break and listen to what we had so far. We felt like we needed another week to finish up some “odds and ends” so we booked a week at Cello studios in Hollywood and banged it out. I’m really excited about this record and can’t wait to get it out, mixing starts on the 24th of this month and should be completed in early Feb. We decided to go with Scott Humphrey as our mixer. He really made a big difference on the last record, his mixes seem to bring more life and aggression to the songs, and that can’t be bad… We are busting our ass to get it out A.S.A.P. Unfortunately the release date moved from late May to early June so the label can take care of some legal stuff. It’s only another 2 weeks in what seems like 10 yrs!! It’s taken forever, but like I’ve said before we wanted to make it as good as possible so you get your moneys worth. I hate paying $16 for a CD with 2 or 3 good songs on it and I’m sure you do also. I promise you that will not be the case with Self Destructive Pattern….there will be 4 good songs!! We have also been busy “learning” how to play these new songs and “relearning” the old songs – the last time SpineShank played together as a band was on Sept 10, 2001 in Dublin, Ireland, so its been a LONG time. But we will be back on tour before the summer. We are already in talks about a few possible tours…so keep your eyes open. well that’s it for now, I’ll check in when we have some final mixes done and let you know what the track listing will be. later. Tommy

Hella Video

Posted on February 12, 2008

The upcoming Machine Head live LP titled Hellalive (thanks once again for the name, Alexander Vandevelde) is still on course for a March 10 release date… Of the fourteen songs on the album, all were recorded live at Brixton Academy, London on December 8, 2001…all but “None But My Own” and “The Burning Red,” both of which were recorded live at the With Full Force Festival, Leipzig, Germany on July 7, 2002. Well, to be arriving at the Roadrunner NY office today is a master for a new video, a live video. The song, “The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears.” The video for this was filmed live at the With Full Force Festival, in front of 20,000+ fans. Edited by Kevin McCullah, Machine Head’s Robert Flynn tells it turned out awesome. It’s true. So, in addition to the upcoming live release, be on the lookout for the upcoming live video… more to come…

Crazyfists Get Creative

Posted on February 12, 2008

Caught up with our man Brock online not more than 10 minutes ago and he sends this update on the new 36 Crazyfists record the band are all hard at work on. “We just moved into our new rehearsal space and that has made for a new fresh feel to our song writing plus we are all in complete love with each other and love seeing each others ugly mugs daily after the month holiday we took away from each other for the holidays… We have about 3 songs done so far and many more to write but it’s pretty cool and we are anxious to see what becomes of the new record… And all you English I fucking love you!”
