NEW ALBUM FROM ZAO

Posted on February 12, 2008

Zao has written over ten songs, and continues to accumulate material, for their new full-length album, the follow up to last year’s landmark “The Funeral Of God.” The band is demoing material in their hometown of Greensburg, Pennsylvania right now and will enter Chicago’s Electrical Audio studio in January to begin tracking with Steve Albini. The famed engineer’s resume, of course, includes Nirvana, The Pixies, Neurosis and Slint. “This is our strongest material and I’m confident in saying this will be the best album that ZAO has ever written,” says longtime guitarist Scott Mellinger. “We want to capture the dark and sinister vibe that was all over the ‘Liberate’ record, while going even further forward and experimenting – as Zao always has done – with new depths within our sound.” While drummer Jeff Gretz has claimed the new album will be called “The George Lucas Neckfat,” the truth is, the album is still as yet untitled. Watch this space for more info on the forth coming release.

NEW TRIVIUM RECORD

Posted on February 12, 2008

Orlando, Florida metal sensations TRIVIUM have posted the following message on their official web site:

“We are on our way to Quebec this morning to prepare for tomorrow’s sold-out opening show at the Theatre Capitole in Quebec City with CHILDREN OF BODOM and AMON AMARTH, in fact we think all of the Canadian shows are sold out í¢ä‰åäó we know it will be good, we just hope our equipment arrives safely from Japan and in time for the show.

“We will be out until the middle of December then we will take a bit of break for the holidays before we head into Audiohammer Studios with [producer] Jason [Suecof] to begin pre-production of ‘The Crusade’ that will take most of January, then we head back out in late January supporting our heros, the mighty IN FLAMES for another North American run along with lablemates í¢ä‰åäó the awesome DEVILDRIVER í¢ä‰åäó that takes us out until end February.

“We will be back to the U.K. in March for our ‘The Crusade III – Ascend Above The Ashes Tour’. From what we understand tickets are selling very well, there is still time to pick up your tickets if you haven’t had the chance, we will be joined on this tour with our friends from GOD FORBID and look forward to meeting the guys from BLOODSIMPLE, can’t wait.

“We plan on setting aside most of April and all of May to record ‘The Crusade’ and then we will hit the road again for the summer tours and festivals.

“As always thanks to everyone for the support this year í¢ä‰åäó it is hard to believe ‘Ascendancy’ came out (3.15.2005) only eight months ago and still doing well, thanks to ‘Ascendancy’ we have been able to tour and perform over 250 shows world-wide in the last 16 months, its all pretty much a blur but it has been a great experience and we’re appreciative of the opportunity you’ve given us, thanks to everyone who continues to believe in us and those willing to work with us for the long haul, it’s great to be off the sidelines and in the game.

“Many people have been emailing asking us for things such as tabs, advice on starting a band, record label workings, opening for us, booking shows, where to get tickets and a number of other things í¢ä‰åäó we do try to accomodate as many requests as we can but it isn’t always possible to answer all the questions especially when we are being asked to do something for someone like tab out a song or explain the meaning of the songs or when we got together, what does TRIVIUM mean, what gear is used etc. The best place for getting the facts are right here on the í¢ä‰åäó website or on the Official TRIVIUM Message Board, or on our Official TRIVIUM Myspace page, we try to keep all our sites up to date and current so many of the initial questions that someone might have can be usually found here on our web site, just check out the links and you might find what it is you are looking for.

“We really appreciate the emails, posts, comments and pictures people send in we are pretty good about posting what we can and thank you for sending the pictures and fan art, we have some really talented friends and fans and enjoy checking out your work.

“Well, we will post a update in a few days, in the meantime we hope to see you at one of our upcoming shows.”

MADBALL GET READY TO TAKE YOU OUT

Posted on February 12, 2008

Madball have posted the following message on their official site regarding their forth coming European tour. “We are very excited, and we are looking forward to our upcoming European tour, which starts the 21st of October. We’ll be over for almost a month, covering 24 cities, and 10 countries. This is our first overseas tour since the release of “Legacy”. The response to the new record has been amazing here in the US, and we can’t wait to play the new songs for our European audience. Through the years, Europe has been our second home……a place where hardcore has always been strong, no matter what the trends or styles were. We’re happy to have along with us, our friends from Sworn Enemy, and Since The Flood. We look forward to seeing everyone, new and old, very soon!! “

BROKEN DOWN DEZ

Posted on February 12, 2008

Dez Fafara has posted the following tour update on the band official website. “Hello out there! The shows on this tour have been going amazingly well – especially Monday night’s Halloween gig in Detroit, which was sold out! Special thanks to the Detroit police department for hanging out with us at Harpo’s and showing everyone a good time. No, seriously! Unfortunately, we woke up the next day to a broken down bus, forcing the whole band and crew to cram into two mini-vans for the drive out to the next show in Davenport, Iowa – which we did make, by the way! Thanks to everyone who’s been coming out to see us, and hope to see many more of you as the tour moves along – it’s been a hell of a ride!” – Dez Remember DevilDriver & The Agony Scene will be touring in the UK from the 1-6 December.
