DANI FILTH CHECKS IN FROM THE STUDIO

Posted on June 26, 2008

Dani Filth, of CRADLE OF FILTH fame has been filling in members of the official Fan Club THE ORDER OF THE DRAGON with progress on the recording of their follow up to their current album ‘Thornography’. These blogs have now been made open to the general public.

Dani here once again to fill you in on everything filthy from the production of our new album, which, as it stands, still remains untitled! There are obviously a huge amount of possible candidates floating about, from the mildly ridiculous to the obviously mediocre, our favourites being “The Lesser Known Adventures Of Gilles De Rais And The Squid People”, “Go-Go Gothic Binoculars'” and “Finger Tits” amongst others, not one fully encapsulating the brutal musical scale of this record quite yet. Still, there a couple of weeks left to go, so who knows what will befall our ever-tentacular creation?

Everything else recording-wise has been finished bar vocals for two songs that will undoubtedly see the light of day far after the album’s release (possibly on film soundtracks which always seem to require non-album tracks). This also includes the addition of all-female choir sections and an additional Swedish male Opera singer, as well as my daughter Luna contributing poetical lines to the song ‘Darkness Incarnate’.

The mix is well on its way toward completion, we’ll finish one by the end of this week and then retire our separate ways for a well-deserved week at home, the premise being to return a week later to re-evaluate and complete it fully (with the intermittent narrative being not-so-lightly sprinkled on the top – well, it is ‘Candyman’ voicing it after all).’

The above is an extract from one, and the most recent, of many blogs and you can read the others at the bands OFFICIAL MYSPACE

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES SHOOT VIDEO AND PREPARE FOR LIVE AT LEICESTER SQUARE (27/06)

Posted on June 26, 2008

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES recently filmed their video for upcoming single SATURDAY (due for release on AUGUST 11TH) at Shepperton Studios in London. In a recent blog, vocalist Aled filled us in on the day:

‘…it involved 4 costume changes; transcending the space/time continuum…i don’t want to spoil the video for you folks. it truly is a spectacle. wait until you see us in our 80s get ups. iain cuts some serious flashdance shapes and it’s all a bit miami vice, with the exception of shay, who was a perm and a cock habit short of being julia roberts in pretty woman. my uncertainty as to what espadrilles actually were, was alleviated when i was told i’d be wearing a bright yellow pair of them. they are, as i kind of suspected, those shoes i really hate. they were a necessary evil and compromise. the yellow espadrilles facilitated the salmon pink blazer.’

Talking about the studios themselves he continues:

‘apparently it’s quite famous and they’ve filmed such stormers of brit-film such as notting hill, about a boy, bridget jones, a muppets christmas carol … i rest my case. sadly, hugh grant wasn’t wandering or loitering in the back seat of any cars with a hooker. so yeah, it was an informative and fun day.’
(Read the full and rather hilarious blog HERE.)

The guys will be back in London on the 27TH JUNE to perform LIVE on XFM’s ‘Live at Leicester Square’. They are scheduled to perform at 5pm, so be sure to tune in!
