HAPPY BIRTHDAY to JOEY JORDISON Joey is currently a very busy chap, not content with having just produced 3 Inches Of Bloods latest demos for their forthcoming album, but he is rehearsing with Ministry for their US tour. The tour kicks off on the 5th May in Houston, and will be swinging through London on the 2nd August at the Forum.
It was recently brought to the attention of ROADRUNNER RECORDS that there is a new emerging underground scene. This so-called scene (CHIMAIRA KAMIKAZE) involves participants disengaging the motor neurone part of the brain and entering a “zombie-like” state. The participants then throw their bodies around the room to the up-beat melodic movements of CHIMAIRA. To prove that this is not an urban myth, we have gathered numerous pieces of footage to quantify and backup these claims. PART 1: I THOUGHT KITCHENS WERE FOR COOKING!! CLICK HERE TO WITNESS THE MADNESS When we demanded a statement from the band on this Chimaira’s Tech-Wizard Chris Spicuzza stated: “This quite possibly made my day. It doesn’t get any better than a moshpit kitchen. You guys fucking rule!” To send us your CHIMAIRA KAMIKAZE clips CLICK HERE The best way to get involved in this underground phenomenon is to go to one of the forthcoming Sounds Of The Underground tour dates. 10/05/2006 – Academy – Manchester 11/05/2006 – QMU – Glasgow 12/05/2006 – Forum – London PLEASE NOTE: The participants in the vidoe are trained professionals and this should not be tried at home. Furthermore ROADRUNNER RECORDS is not an endorser/supporter of CHIMAIRA KAMIKAZE.
Slipknot’s Sid Wilson is to release a solo album this June according to Total Rock. The release will be entitled ‘The New Leader’, and will be under his project name of DJ Starscream. Wilson himself describes the style as a ‘mosh up’.
To celebrate St. Georges day, which for all those who don’t know (i.e. the English) was on Sunday, we have posted a short guide to: DEFINITIONS OF METAL’S COMPLEX SUBGENRES * Power Metal The protagonist arrives riding a white unicorn, escapes from the dragon, saves the princess and makes love to her in an enchanted forest. * Thrash Metal The protagonist arrives, fights the dragon, saves the princess and fucks her. * Heavy Metal The protagonist arrives on a Harley, kills the dragon, drinks a few beers and fucks the princess. * Folk Metal The protagonist arrives with some friends playing accordions, violins, flutes and many more weird instruments, the dragon falls asleep (because of all the dancing). Then all leave…….. without the princess. * Viking Metal The protagonist arrives in a ship, kills the dragon with his mighty axe, skins the dragon and eats it, rapes the princess to death, steals her belongings and burns the castle before leaving. * Death Metal The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon, fucks the princess and kills her, then leaves. * Black Metal The protagonist arrives at midnight, kills the dragon and impales it in front of the castle. Then he sodomizes the princess, drinks her blood in a ritual before killing her. Then he impales the princess next to the dragon. * Gore Metal The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon and spreads his guts in front of the castle, fucks the princess and kills her. Then he fucks the dead body again, slashes her belly and eats her guts. Then he fucks the carcass for the third time, burns the corpse and fucks it for the last time. * Doom Metal The protagonist arrives, sees the size of the dragon and thinks he could never beat him, then he gets depressed and commits suicide. The dragon eats his body and the princess as dessert. That’s the end of the sad story. * Progressive Metal The protagonist arrives with a guitar and plays a solo of 26 minutes. The dragon kills himself out of boredom. The protagonist arrives to the princess’ bedroom, plays another solo with all the techniques and tunes he learned in the last year of the conservatory. The princess escapes looking for the ‘Heavy Metal’ protagonist. * Glam Metal The protagonist arrives, the dragon laughs at the guy’s appearance and lets him enter. He steals the princess’ make up and tries to paint the castle in a beautiful pink colour. * Nu Metal The protagonist arrives in a run down Honda Civic and attempts to fight the dragon but he burns to death when his moronic baggy clothes catch fire Disclaimer: This post is not a representation of the views or opinions of Roadrunner Records. We just thought it was quite funny.

WALLS OF JERICHO have posted this studio update on their official myspace blog. “so we finally finished the record. its pretty freakin sweet i do have to say. i was a bit skeptical goin in to be honest but i think its mostly cause all we have done for the last 5 or 6 months is work on these songs so its impossible to have an open opinion. but back to the matter at hand. we just want everyone to know its done and we are extremely happy with the outcome and to say over and over again how happy we were to work with both ben schigel producing and eric rachel mixing. its been a wondeful experience. thank you guys. so dont forget we start our first tour in over 6 months in early may. i think its gonna be pretty sweet. we are definately excited and we will be playing a couple/few new songs on the tour so this would be a good chance to get a sneak peak at some new jams. ok, we’ll keep you all posted as more comes about. send us some love. we are feeling pretty lonely sitting at home all alone and bored. haha.”
