Still haven't picked up the incredible new Dream Theater album Systematic Chaos?
As Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show on BBC 6Music moves to it's new Friday Night Slot, he's got a slew of great guests joining him in his new slot.
Hot on the heels of a truly triumphant performance at the Download festival, DREAM THEATER have confirmed they will return this Autumn for six headline shows.
New album ‘Systematic Chaos’, which received several perfect score reviews, soared into the UK album chart at #25 yesterday – their highest chart position here to date 22 years into their career (2005’s ‘Octavarium’ charted at #72).

The mightiest metal tour in years is set to hit the UK this November. ‘THE BLACK CRUSADE’ brings together four of the leading lights in metal for a string of UK arena shows. Headed up by MACHINE HEAD and TRIVIUM, the tour will march through the UK with DRAGONFORCE, ARCH ENEMY and a third special guest act (tba) in tow.
MACHINE HEAD royally levelled Donington’s Download Festival this weekend and reminded the crowd why they’re one of the best live metal bands in the world today. Talking about the tour, MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn was in boisterous form, enthusing “We’re so goddamned jacked-up to do this! It’s going to be completely fucking sick! We cannot wait to plunder all of the vodka in all your towns and see our beer-breathed brethren pillaging along side us. We’re stoked to be sharing stages and brown-eyes with our boys in Trivium once again and are looking forward to hanging out with all the other bands.”
Meanwhile, TRIVIUM’s Matt Heafy is equally excited: “It’s going to be a really amazing show for the fans. Rarely is there a tour where every single band is such a dominating force in the music world. MACHINE HEAD have always been revolutionary in bringing monumental albums every damn time they put one out; DRAGONFORCE are sweeping (literally and guitar-atively) the entire world with their lightning fast precision and incredibly memorable tracks; and ARCH ENEMY are queen and kings of a metal capable of being so brutal and heavy, yet so melodic and catchy. It's great to look at this line-up purely as a music fan and know that us Triviums are gonna have a fantastic time ourselves, being able to watch some of our favourite bands who also happen to be some of our best friends in the metal world.”

Keep an eye on the Radio 1 Download Page for all their updates on last weekend's incredible Download Festival.
On the cover of the June 23rd issue of Kerrang! magazine, there is an amazing CD of some top bands covering metal classics, including killer tracks from Soulfly and Madina Lake!
And apparently a few Welsh lads have covered an old Machine Head classic…
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the “Forums” section of the band's web site:
“What a great day yesterday in England [at the Download festival]! After a trying stretch of making some shows in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and Finland we limped into Download yesterday, tired and worn out. Thank you for making our performance so enjoyable for us. When I saw everyone, especially those up front, I couldn't control the rush I felt. It was also kewl backstage too, seeing Clint from the old SEVENDUST days, Josh from BUCKCHERRY, and the great guitarist from DRAGONFORCE, and the MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE guys was just a great all around vibe.
“I hope you enjoyed the webcast and I want to thank the organizers for Download for not only having us, but for making the webcast happen too.
“At this rate, while this was one of the shortest set lengths I have played in the U.K. for sometime, I look forward to playing for you again in 2009.”
