Metallica’s Bay Area buddies, MACHINE HEAD have been confirmed as special guests for next weekend’s Wembley Stadium show on 8th July.
Following their victorious Saturday set at the Download Festival and the release of their universally lauded ‘The Blackening’ album, MACHINE HEAD are more than ready to take on 70,000 loyal metalheads at the new national stadium.
To say MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel is looking forward to it would be an understatement. “Holy Crap!!!” he enthuses. “A monstrous cherry just got plopped on top of our already huge European festival run pie, in the shape of the Metallica show at Wembley Stadium. Are you effin' kidding me?!? We couldn't have asked for a better ending to this amazing ride through Europe than to play with our Bay Area brothers at this legendary venue. WOO HOO!!”
And drummer Dave McClain could hardly be more excited! “Well, the year just keeps getting better and better!! After an amazing festival and some of the best headline shows we've ever had in the U.K. and Europe, we just got added to the bill for Metallica and Wembley Stadium!!! This will be the icing on the cake after a month of great memories like, headling the Metal Hammer awards and taking home “Album of the Year” honors, Robb winning the Golden God and being support for Iron Maiden at the Olympic Stadium in Rome!!!
Huge thanks to the Metallica guys for adding us to the show. We'll see all you Machine “F@*#ing” Head'ers at Wembley Stadium!!!”
MACHINE HEAD are set to take the stage at 5.15pm. A few remaining seated tickets are on sale now at http://www.livenation.co.uk/, priced
Whilst basking in the limelight of their monumental appearence at Download, Sanctity played a few games with Metal Hammer backstage…
Bobby Burns, Soulfly bassist was the featured guest on All Knowing Force a web-based interview show on 26th June. You can access the show at www.allknowingforce.com.
Booby has been speaking about his busy schedule, “I've been bouncing back and forth from Atlanta to here in Orlando for that. We recorded at my studio, The Porch, and I couldn't be happier with it! Our MySpace and all that shit will be up before I head out once again with SOULFLY for Europe. I also just posted a few tunes that I did for my side project with Billy Keeton (ex-SKRAPE vocalist) and Will Hunt (Tommy Lee, Dark New Day drummer), and you can find that over at this location.”

Mick Thomson, Slipknot guitarist has spoken out about his guest appearance on the new Malevolent Creation track, ‘Deliver My Enemy’.
Said Thomson: “I played the second lead (starts at 3:22 and goes until 3:55). Jon Rubin played the first (1:13 – 1:43).
“I am proud beyond words to have been asked to be part of this recording and I am grateful to be able to call them friends.
“My part was recorded using one of my Ibanez RG customs through a Line 6 pod pro that I tweaked and engineered by Sid Wilson (yeah, SLIPKNOT Sid) at his studio here in Des Moines. I dont know how soon it will be before he starts recording and producing other bands. He certainly has the fucking talent.
“Again, I'm proud to be a part of the CD. I was playing 'The Ten Commandments' in the darkroom of my photo class in high school and pissing everyone off. Fucking surreal.
“Love you, guys.”

Launch Radio recently spoke with Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor about the release of their deluxe edition of their second album ‘Come What(ever) May’ which was released earlier this month. Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor told Launch that the band's first visit to Russia was a memorable one. “The show was incredible,” he said. “It was very cold. Women, beautiful. Amazing. They treated us like kings. I mean, it was crazy! We'd never been there before. I'd never been there with, you know, Slipknot or Stone Sour, so it was like a big first for us. We headlined this award show and 8,000 kids, kind of off of us alone. I mean, it was insane! Great show, though.”
