CRADLE OF FILTH have revealed the rather dazzling artwork for their upcoming album GODSPEED ON THE DEVIL’S THUNDER, which is due for a release on the 27th OCTOBER.

CRADLE OF FILTH are set the release the track “Tragic Kingdom” as a FREE 24 hour MP3 download from www.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk, kicking off Wednesday August 27th, 5am UK time!!

The track is the very first to be released from the bands upcoming album ‘GODSPEED ON THE DEVIL’S THUNDER’. The album, which hits stores on October 27th, has been described by the band as

‘conceptual and is based on the well-documented, true-life fall from grace of a shadowy historical figure named Gilles de Rais, a wealthy French nobleman who was one of Joan of Arc’s brothers-in-arms. He was best known, however, as a prolific serial killer who mixed prayers with his nightly murders as well as an aspiring alchemist. He was accused of a panoply of crimes, among them heresy, demonology and kidnapping. There’s even an extreme fringe sect of historians who question de Rais’ true status, with some convinced he was framed.’

The album will be available as a digital download, CD or CD/DVD package and you can pre-order from HERE.

The band are scheduled to play London’s Forum on December 1st, and tickets are on sale NOW.

Last night saw the Kerrang! Awards 2008 ceremony take place in London and two of our lot triumphed!! MACHINE HEAD claimed the Best Live Band award and SLIPKNOT were granted the Icon award.

The awards saw nominations for MADINA LAKE, KILL HANNAH and KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES too, and whilst not winners in their categories, it was your votes that got them the nominations in the first place, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted in the awards from everyone here at RR HQ and from all the Roadrunner nominees and winners.
