TJ Miller, vocalist of Still Remains, enthuses “The UK is like a second home to us! We think of our fans as extended family so are looking forward to seeing as many as possible. Not to mention getting to play a few more new songs for them!” “It’s a been a while since we played over there,” adds Alex Varkatzas, Atreyu’s frontman. “We always have a great time in the UK and can’t wait to see what our friends think of our new stuff live. Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of New Jersey quintet, The Parlor Mob. From their humble beginnings in the south-NJ club scene, adorned in ‘70s inspired high fashion, these indie rockers have cultivated a new sound forged from classic blues with modern sensibilities. Heartfelt and catchy vocals hook onto groove driven riffs, creating the band’s unique, vibrant sound. This band bleeds musical legitimacy.
Before the band was recognized as The Parlor Mob, they played under the moniker What About Frank?. Harvesting success at major US events such as the Vans Warped Tour, Bamboozle, CMJ Music Marathon and South By Southwest, the band nurtured a following in both New Jersey and throughout the U.S. Changing their name to The Parlor Mob, they have a rejuvenated sense of purpose and are now focusing on creating music for their Roadrunner debut. “Thank God for The Parlor Mob,” says A&R representative David Bason. “They single-handedly bring showmanship back to the boring landscape of today's rock snorefest.”
The band’s captivating live show captures the raw essence and energy of rock ‘n roll with a jolt of punk rock intensity. The New York Times reports: “When you’re not even halfway through your 20’s, jump-starting a back-to-basics rock revolution seems a tall order. Judging by the rock ‘n’ roll charisma radiated by the band members at their live shows – long hair tossing, instrument abusing, generally reckless affairs – [The Parlor Mob] are up to the task.”
The Parlor Mob will commence recording at Echo Mountain studios in North Carolina later this month. Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, The Dwarves, Modest Mouse) has signed on to produce the album, set for release in 2008.

SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser visited the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Leeds, England last month to host a guitar clinic as part of the Metal Hammer Weekender. Watch video footage of his guitar skills at this location.
Kisser stated about the clinic: I didn't have with me all the stuff I usually use in my clinics in Brazil but it was really cool. It was a conversation with 20 students from the school and it was sponsored by the Metal Hammer magazine. It [was] a whole weekend talking and playing metal! I played many riffs from the history of SEPULTURA and they asked me about everything: techniques, composition, influences and stories about SEPULTURA. Also, I improvise over some blues playbacks but I couldn't play the classical guitar 'cause I didn't have my instrument.
Andreas was born in Brazil in 1968 and started playing acoustic guitar in 1981, learning the basic chords with popular Brazilian music. He later discovered KISS and QUEEN, and that changed his life. In his early years Andreas was hugely influenced by OZZY, BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, TWISTED SISTER, WHITESNAKE, VENOM and METALLICA. He learnt a lot from all those guitarists, plus bands like PINK FLOYD and YES and guitarists such as Eric Clapton, John Williams, Romero Brothers, Leo Brower, Baden Powell, Villa Lobos, etc.
Andreas joined SEPULTURA in 1987 after meeting the band on a holiday. He recorded his first LP, “Schizophrenia”, the same year. With that album SEPULTURA got a contract to release the next record worldwide.
Andreas is working on his first solo album, which he hopes to release in early 2008.
