Time for some more words on the debut Thornley…and they come in the form as follows: 1 – US Revolver Magazine. The current issue on stands has Slipknot on the cover…the upcoming issue (August 2004, #27) has the US Ozzfest 2004 participants on the cover, AND a review of the debut Thornley CD, Come Again. And it goes just like this: “What might Nickelback sound like fronted by Chris Cornell? Say hello to THORNLEY, the new quartet formed by Canadian singer/guitarist Ian Thornley following the demise of his previous group, Big Wreck. The band’s auspicious debut, Come Again, is a 12-song slice of radio-ready melodic hard rock, a cornucopia of ebb-abd-flow arrangements filled with hooks and anthemic choruses – along with a vocal timbre (not to mention physical appearance) that’s baldly reminiscent of the aforementioned former Soundgarden frontman. Thornley are less edgy and experimental than Cornell’s subsequent Audioslave or even Big Wreck, but Come Again is still highly listenable in a workmanlike, shot-and-a-beer kind of way – virtues that should not be easily dismissed.” 2 – This Week In Metal. Review of the album just posted today at ThisWeekInMetal.com. “…Thornley rocks. Come Again is what great summer albums are all about – roll down the windows, and crank it up as loud as it can go, because this is one of those records that hooks you after one spin.” Do visit them and read on…

Did you know? Hailing from the ‘middle of nowhere’- Des Moines, Iowa – SLIPKNOT are nine men in nine different masks united with one common goal: world domination. Fortified with an arsenal of blistering music saturated with screams, drums, searing riffs, sampling, scratches and melody, Slipknot’s music runs the scale from eerily thought-provoking to utterly terrifying. Already hailed as a landmark in Metal music, their self-titled debut has since sold nearly 250,000 in the UK alone while their second album ‘Iowa’ made an even bigger impact. Heavier and even more uncompromising, it debuted in the UK album charts at Number 1, shipping Gold on release, and was followed by a sold-out UK Arena tour. Following successful side-projects in 2002 (Corey & Jim with Stone Sour, Joey with The Murderdolls), Slipknot have regrouped, refreshed and re-energised for album number three – ‘Vol 3:The Subliminal Verses’. ‘Vol 3’ is the album the one the doubters said would never see the light of day. Recorded with Rick Rubin at his haunted mansion recording facility in the Hollywood hills, the album is a demonstration of Slipknot’s seemingly innate ability to connect with existing maggots and pushes the limits of the genre in all directions. Rubin, of course, has already helmed genre-defining records for artists as diverse as The Beastie Boys & Slayer, and on ‘Vol 3’ he launches the band into a whole new level of song-writing and playing. The first single , “Duality” is, “lyrically, what you might think… we’ve been through a lot as a band and the lyrics really reflect our maintaining faith and the perseverance of all 9 of us,” says Joey Jordison (#1). “Duality” represents the album well in its unwillingness to compromise the band’s rock foundation and its ability to be aurally appealing and melodic at the same time. With new management in the shape of Sanctuary (Iron Maiden, Jane’s Addiction) on board and a major European tour with Metallica (including the Donington & Glasgow ‘Download’ Festivals) already confirmed, Slipknot look set to complete their long-held threat of “world domination”. Available on 2 formats – a strictly limited edition 7″ pic disc and enahanced CD – both include exclusive tracks. TRACKLISTING: 7″: 1.’Duality’ 2.’Don’t Get Close’* CD: 1.’Duality’ 2.’Don’t Get Close’* 3.’Disasterpieces (Live)’* 4.’Duality (uncensored video)’* * exclusive track. Duality is released June 14th.

A Note from Murderdoll Acey Slade: Greetings and Beatings! What a year 2003 was. With the Murderdolls winning all the readers polls and doing tons of successful touring, how can 2004 top it? I’ll tell you how. With the Murderdolls on hiatus I’ve been a busy bat in my ‘down time’. First I’ve formed Trash Light Vision with a bunch of old friends. I’ve been doing most of the writing and I’m singing as well as playing guitar. While I was on tour with the Murderdolls, I knew a time would come when we would be taking a break. In preparation, I started writing lyrics and songs about the people I met, places I went to and weird events that transpired. Trash Light Vision is the result of that. After I got all the guys in place and the songs written, I got a call from Casey Chaos of Amen. He wanted to know if I was available to do a quick US tour, as their guitarist had health and visa problems and their new album was about to come out though Columbia/Sony. Now keep in mind, Casey has photos of himself singing with Henry Rollins and has played in Christian Death and the reviews on the new Amen album are awesome. It was a privilege and honour to say yes. With my Amen obligations fullfilled for now, I’m back at the Trash Light Vision wheel. I will be taking TLV up and down the East Coast of the US before we head to the UK for the ‘Burn Our Records, Burn Your Books’ tour, with my friends in Anti-Product. I can’t wait to surprise all the Murderdolls and Amen fans. Thanks in advance for your support in the future, as well as everything in the past. As always-rock like fuck!
