So what’s the lowdown on Twelve Tribes? Currently out on the road in the USA with 36 Crazyfists, Kittie, & Candiria, the guys took some time to do an interview with Jay, from theundergroundscene.net. Check it out HERE.
A long day, and alotta film… but the shoot for the brand new video for Cradle of Filth’s Nymphetamine is done. Shot yesterday, crew were on site by 7:30am til the last take at not long before 2am! The band also had an early start, driving into London for the shoot from Ipswich, and finally arriving home around 4am this morning! Roadrunner is also tired today, but pleased to report we took quie a few photos during the day, which we’ll be posting next week, for a behind the scenes piece. Meanwhile, Dave (bassist) hauled himself out of bed to send forth this quick note about yesterday: “The video shoot for ‘Nymphetamine’ went great. Had a very early start at 7am, obviously with a hangover, and spent 14 hours holed up in a damp underground vault near the London Dungeon. Pretty grim stuff. The director, Dani Jacobs, and his crew were brilliant and worked flat out all day filming lots of different scenes with Dani, the band, Liv Kristine and our 2 very beautiful actresses. I can’t wait to see the finished version. Hope they get to include what will be the first windmill headbanging in a metal ballad, haha!!! Liv was amazing and I wanna thank her for being so cool.”
Corey Taylor has posted the following message at the message board StoneSourBoard.tk: “I’d like to give you a little update on the Stone Sour front as we haven’t done that in a long time. 1. We have 30 full and partial songs brewing at the moment. 2. Jamey from Hatebreed has expressed his interest in doing a song with us and most definitely will. 3. Plans are being made to start work in September of 2005, or perhaps even earlier, depending on the schedule. “That’s it for now. “Thank you to everyone for keeping the fires lit while Jim and I indulge our other passion. Commitment has to be total, and at the moment our commitment is to the ‘KNOT. But as soon as we’re done touring with SLIPKNOT, it’s on. I’m writing, Jim’s writing, Josh is writing, everyone is gearing up for this. “Stay tuned.”
If you have yet to do so, download “Like Light To The Flies” off Trivium’s MUSIC page. Now that that is out of the way, Trivium is currently touring on the US Road Rage tour with Chimaira and Machine Head. Guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy checks in with the following: “Yo! Matt here in North Carolina…in the midst of two tornadoes, one hurricane, and a tropical storm, but that ain’t stoppin’ us. We are getting to Atlanta tomorrow and Orlando on Saturday no matter what natural disaster gets in our way. So we’re a bit into the second week of touring and I must say so far the tour has been fantastic. Two standout shows in particular – Worcester, MA at the Palladium — one word- UNREAL. My favorite show so far. People were dancing, moshing, pumping horns, screaming along with the songs. The energy was so intense I threw my guitar down during í¢äåñPillars Of Serpentsí¢äå to get a little more up close with our fans. You can check out some cool photos from this show at www.zeroflesh.com and see what I am talking about (Thanks Bruce). “Then there was Norfolk, VA at the Norva. Now, we played here on the Iced Earth tour to an extremely active, amazing crowd – and to continue the tradition of Trivium at the Norva… it was the same. People knew who we were this time and they were nuts. It felt like we were playing a hometown show at the Norva. So there’s that. Now, make sure all you fans come down and check us out at a nearby show – we promise an unforgettable show…” And if you have ever seen them live, you’d agree.
Read below for Cradle Of Filth’s bassist Dave Pybus’ answers to the questions you sent in (more answers to come later this week): Question – Have you guys ever considered doing an all cover album of classic metal? Because I thought what you did with Iron Maiden’s í¢äåñHallowed be Thy Nameí¢äå was fuckin awesome, and it would be really interesting to see how you guys would do Black Sabbath’s í¢äåñIron Man,í¢äå or Metallica’s í¢äåñBattery.í¢äå – Jim Dave Pybus – The only time we ever talk about covers is when we are drunk playing the MISFITS on the tour bus. It’s all just a dream really, a project like that, ‘cos we are so damn busy all the time doing our own material. Maybe, one day, we will attempt the idea. ———————————————————— Question – What kind of weird idea’s does CoF have for there new video? I’m just curious. I can’t wait to hear the new album it sounds like it’s gonna be a killer one. í¢äåäóì Dark Lotus Dave Pybus – I’ve yet to read the treatment for the new video which we will film in London next week. Its gonna be the track í¢äåñNYMPHETAMINEí¢äå and hopefully feature Liv Kristine, seen as she sang on the track. ———————————————————— Question – When do you plan on going on tour for Nymphetamine? Are you planning on a world tour? If so, make it to Louisville, Kentucky. You have so many fans you don’t know about. Plus, I have been trying to go to your concerts for a very long time and now that I can go to them, you’re never around. I’m sorry to sound like I’m bitching, but I needed to tell you guys. Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to the new record! Hail Satan! – Andrea Hill Dave Pybus – Well, the plan is, firstly to survive our South American tour in Septemberí¢äå_haha. Then hit the states in October/November after the new record is out. I’m not sure of the cities we are paying but obviously we try to get to as many people as possible. The tour is always longer than originally planned so maybe we will get closer to you than you think. Hope to see you at one of the other shows if not. ———————————————————— Question – With the signing of you guys to Roadrunner Records, and with interest you have been getting from people since your Ozzfest ’03 appearance (which I saw you guys fucking kicked ass), do you feel you have reached the prime of you careers with the new album Nymphetamine coming out? Or do you feel that you have not even reached what can be with CoF? (I know 2 part question) – Adam Suchara Dave Pybus – Well to think we are in our prime would be a little self-defeating. There is always so much for us to do we don’t get much time to spend thinking about that. At the moment, on the eve of NYMPHETAMINE being released, we are very positive about doing the NEXT record and making it better than anything we have ever done before. There is much evil to spread so lots of hard work stillí¢äå_haha. ———————————————————— Question – Will the band tour in Australia? Particularly, in Perth? Dave Pybus – We haven’t played Australia for a few years and there is plans in the pipeline to get back there asap. It’s looking like spring 2005 and as for the places we will play I’m not sure. I’ve personally never been there so I’m excited about getting a chance to get there to play. ———————————————————— Question – Greetings all of Cradle Of Filth. I would like to know as to the stances of your own personal views on religion. What do you feel about religion as a whole, what is your spiritual standpoint? What philosophers do you most agree towards? – Rayne Gaccione Dave Pybus – Religion for me is a bit of a strange thing. I mean to observe, essentially, I’m an atheist, I find religion to be confusing. I mean, take the 10 commandments for instance. Thou shall not kill? Yet on the news everyday there is religious people KILLING each other. I mean, if all the atheists in the world stood up to this behavior and banned religion as a whole then maybe the world would be a nicer, safer, more tolerant place to live? A little extreme I know but there you go. That’s freedom of speech for ya! ———————————————————— Question – What old album would you compare your new CD to? í¢äåäóì Mitchell S. Dave Pybus – We can’t really compare this new record to anything we have done in the past other than we are continuing the Cradle sound and taking it further. We respect our past and are not denying what we have already done, unlike some other bands these days who seem to want to shun their history. For us, we want to carry on spreading the music. ———————————————————— Question – I would like to know how I could get a prescription for some Nymphetamine? Dave Pybus – So would I haha. Not that I would like to be addicted to something. Everything in moderation is good.

Whilst on your interest travels today, stop by the Loudside website and have a read of the great brand new interview they’ve done with our boys in Cradle Of Filth just this part Friday. In other COF news, the band will be shooting a video for ‘Nymphetamine’ this Thursday, somewhere in the black depths of London. As for what the video is going to be like, Dani told Loudside: “I’m not gonna say it’s í¢äåñtheatricalí¢äå, but it’s going to be set in the premise that you’re watching theatre. The two lead characters are a male and a female, which are actually two females. So it’s very Shakespearian in that aspect, and kinda a bit lesbian. I won’t say that though cause it will get banned.” For more Cradle, there’s another good new interview over at All Things Metal HERE.

The guys over at HMAS.ORG are pretty big Trivium fans it seems… “Myself and Reno got to hang out with and interview a band that is very close to the site…Trivium. These thrashers from Florida are a band that we have a special place in our hearts for, and it’s great to see them going so far. We caught up with them in Pittsburgh on their tour with the mighty Iced Earth and Beyond The Embrace. I got the honor of interviewing lead singer/guitarist Matt Heafy and drummer Travis Smith, and it was a blast. Do yourselves a favor and support these guys. Their music will blow you away.” An excerpt from their interview is below, but do read the whole piece, which you can find HERE. Dan: You guys got to tour with God Forbid back in April, which was your first really big tour here in the states. Was it tough, and how much did you enjoy it? Travis: It was awesome! We met some really good friends. The guys from God Forbid, the guys from Scars Of Tomorrow, All That Remains. They’re friends of ours now, and it was a good first tour to get our feet wet, and just get out there and do it! So, it was great for us. Dan: How was the filming for the video for Like Light To Flies? Matt: Cold! Like, negative 20 degrees. It was exhausting. Two 12 hour days. It was great, though. It was a lot of fun besides the work. It was just exhausting. Travis: Yeah, what Matt said. It was tough, but it did help us out in the end. Dan: How did you come up with the name Trivium, and what does it mean? Matt: Our old lead singer came up with it, and we stole it from him. It’s Latin for three-way intersection, and Old English for the old school of learning. It’s for grammar, rhetoric, and logic. Dan: I’d like to congratulate you on your signing with Roadrunner Records. How did this come about? Matt: Luck, man. Total luck. Just the right people saw us playing at the right time. They also saw the video, so that did help a lot. Travis: Yup, we’re lucky and proud to be here. Dan: How’s work on the new album progressing? Matt: We did tracking and some pre-production. There’s around 12 or 13 songs that we’re working on. Dan: Do you have a title for the new album yet? Matt: Yes, the title is going to be Ascendancy.
