Your New Favourite Band

Posted on February 12, 2008

Did you learn much about new signing Trivium yet? We suggest you pick up their previous album ‘From Ember To Inferno’, out on Lifeforce if you haven’t already for a little taster. And you should definitely check out the free MP3 up in the music section. Currently over here in the studio with Andy Sneap, ‘Ascendancy’ is set to be released on February 28 next year. Brutalism.com describes Trivium as, í¢ä‰åñcombining the elements of traditional American thrash and death metal with that of the European scene and the resurgence of metalcore. They are the musical equivalent of eloquence.í¢ä‰åŒ Just wait til you hear what they’ve come up with. Meanwhile, let us tell you a little more about them. 1. Trivium’s name is Latin for three-way intersection, and old English for the school of learning. It’s for grammar, rhetoric, and logic. 2. All of Trivium are strong believers in the power of the internet to promote music í¢ä‰åäóì and have stated they would never have discovered one of their favourite bands, In Flames, without it. 3. They would love to share a stage with Metallica – and they used to do a cover of Master Of Puppets in their live set! 4. The youngest band member is singer Matt who is 18, the oldest is 22. ‘Ascendancy’ will be their 3rd release. 5. They laid down the drum tracks for this record at the legendary Morrissound Studios in Florida, the home of death metal! 6. Their producer Jason Suecof used to work with Chuck Schuldiner (Control Denied, Death). 7. Matt also sang in Capharnaum, a supergroup with producer Suecof. 8. Trivium have already been on tour in the US with Iced Earth, the US Roadrage line-up, and hit the road soon with Fear Factory. And they have a show with Killswitch Engage too!

Live From Manchester

Posted on February 12, 2008

Instead of photos from London from the current Wednesday 13 tour, we thought we’d do some up in Manchester. So off we went, couple of journalists in tow (for some future press we’ll tell you about later). Met some cool fans up there post show, when Wednesday 13 plus Kid Kid, Pig, and Ghastly came out to sign some stuff, and we’ve posted up a couple of the shots in their PHOTO GALLERY (we want an Action Man like that for Xmas). There’s also a couple shots of all the guys backstage before the show, getting ready to play, and you can see the man behind the clown (Richard, tour manager) too. And of course, the expected live photos (plus props). Check em all out HERE.

please do read the following exerpts from reviews of 3 Inches Of Blood’s Advance And Vanquish release… “I’ve got absolutely NO business liking this album. By all rights, due to the Rob Halford/King Diamond-like squeals of Cam Pipes alone I shouldn’t have even made it past the first song. However, a few things not only keep me listening but actually end up making this a damn fine METAL!!! album…Y’know what? Stop reading and just go get this. Oh and Roadrunner- you’re almost forgiven.” – DIGITAL METAL “To all the bands out there working on metal albums, just quit right now. Seriously, stop. You’ll never write an album as metal as Advance and Vanquish from 3 Inches of Blood. It’s like Iron Maiden meets Judas Priest meets Running Wild meets damn near anything else remotely cool in metal from the 80’s. And what were the first words that popped out of my mouth as soon as this album started? Quite simply ‘Fuck yes,’ which immediately lead to some wicked air guitar work.” – METAL REVIEW “If there is one thing that is hard to describe, it is the feeling that you get when listening to an album. I would describe “Advance And Vanquish” as a perfect heavy metal album, it should really touch you when you belong to the NWOBHM generation. Go and get it, judge for yourself but I can hardly imagine this album will disappoint you if you have real heavy metal blood running through your veins.” – LORDS OF METAL 3 Inches Of Blood Advance And Vanquish in stores now…
