NEW FREQUENCIES FOR ZAO

Posted on February 12, 2008

We are happy to announce that Zao‘s long time tour manager, Marty Lunn, has taken over bass duties in the band. Marty has tour managed the band for many years and he also played in the band Pensive, which featured ex-Zao guitarist Brett Detar and released a split-CD with Dan, Stephen and Russ’s pre-Zao band, Seasons In The Field. In other words, Marty is a major part of the family, and was a natural choice to play in the band. The band would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Shawn for his contributions to the band and wish him the best for the future. This has been the best time in Zao’s history, the past year and a half, and we expect to continue that!!

A BLOODY REVOLUTION!!

Posted on February 12, 2008

Rising Trustkill Stars Set To Tear Down The Walls In A Bloody Revolution! Two of Trustkill’s finest bands announce dates… Most Precious Blood and Walls Of Jericho are set to hit the UK in June. Last seen here in Sept 2004, MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD has been busy touring around Australia, New Zealand, and the USA since, including a pre-Christmas PETA ‘Compassion Over Fashion’ tour. Hard at work writing too, the band has also been working on their new record í¢ä‰åäóì currently set for an Autumn 2005 release. They return supporting Napalm Death across Europe. Here’s what Justin (Brannan, guitar) had to say, í¢ä‰åñNapalm Death were inspirational to us beyond explanation. They were one of the first bands that inspired us to start our own bands and make our own music. To say having the chance to tour with them is a dream come true would be a tragic understatement. We are so excited to return to Europe supporting them. Bring us a chip butty, but hold the butterí¢ä‰åŒ_ Hope to see you all at the shows!í¢ä‰åŒ The band will be annihilating the following UK venues: June 3rd í¢ä‰åäóì Edinburgh, Studio 24 June 4th í¢ä‰åäóì Sheffield, Club Zero June 5th í¢ä‰åäóì Birmingham, Academy June 6th í¢ä‰åäóì London, Camden Electric Ballroom WALLS OF JERICHO will be following up their successful stint on last year’s Eastpak Resistance Tour with a run of UK headline shows in June. Candace Kucsulain (vocals) is clear about the relevance of the band’s blend of aggressive music and substantial lyrics, “What’s important to me about our band’s music is what is a common thread throughout the hardcore scene. Hardcore’s aggression has been appealing to me – because when I was younger I was an angry kid, and I was having to deal with the emotions that life forces on you. This band becomes a way for me to vent, even now.” See them play, and become part of the hardcore family’s cathartic release. Join Candace and her boys in hailing the dead at: June 19th í¢ä‰åäóì Glasgow, Cathouse June 20th í¢ä‰åäóì Manchester, Rockworld June 21st í¢ä‰åäóì Newcastle, Trillians June 22nd í¢ä‰åäóì Newport, TJ’s June 23rd í¢ä‰åäóì London, Highbury Garage Born From Pain support. Tickets will be on sale from the usual box offices and online agents shortly. REMEMBER: If you haven’t already picked up the latest Most Precious Blood and Walls Of Jericho albums, NOWS THE TIME! HMV & Virgin Megastores will be offering both (amongst other Trustkill CDs) from 퉌£6.99 for 1 month from March 7. Furthermore if you buy 2 Trustkill CD’s at Virgin you’ll be able to pick up the brand new ‘Trustkill Video Assault Volume 1’ DVD for only 퉌£4.99, instead of it’s usual retail price of 퉌£7.99. A HEAD OF THE REST

Machine Head: Best Band of Download 2004 So say the online community! and who are we to argue? Download message boarders have voted Machine Head the best band at Donington last year, for their main stage appearance on Sunday 6 June, in an online poll. The hardcore metallers stole almost a third of the votes with Slipknot taking second place and Metallica coming third. Other bands high up in the pecking order included Korn, Arch Enemy, Slayer and Linkin Park. You can see the full results and continue the discussion HERE. Of Machine Head’s performance, fan reviewer Tom Prince reported: ‘Sporting some of the all time favourites like Davidian, The Blood The Sweat The Tears and the new classic Imperuim, Machine Head certainly managed to silence the critics. To hear thousands in the crowd scream out the words, ‘let freedom ring with a shotgun blast’ during Davidian was a classic heavy metal moment. Today Machine Head were a band on top of the world, the crowd loved them and they loved the crowd back’ REMEMBER: MACHINE HEAD’s DVD – THROUGH THE ASHES OF ENGALND – OUT – MAY ’05

PHOTO EVIDENCE – much better than a Gameboy sp !!

Posted on February 12, 2008

Cradle Of Filth Nymphetamine (sp) special edition, is out today. Now I know a few people were dubious about the likes of the GameBoy sp. But this is completely different. Not only is it not a handheld games console, but unlike the GamBoy it includes 2 all new tracks plus the covers “Bestial Lust”, “Mr Crowley”, “Devil Woman” Featuring King Dianmond and more… However thats not it. The artwork is amazing, a copper embossed packshot, double disc open out set, and the video for Nymphetamine is also on there as an enhanced element. CLICK HERE to see a photo of the artwork, which to be honest still doesn’t do it any justice. If you need anymore convincing go to our MUSIC section and check out the stream for DEVIL WOMAN

I HAD SHIVERS

We would like to thank, Chris Haywood for his review of Killswitch Engage from 19/01/05 January 19th 2005 Wolverhampton Wulfren UK. I’m here for the highly anticipated SOLD OUT gig for Killswitch Engage with support coming from All That Remains and Johnny Truant. Now to be honest I’m here for only two of the bands… Killswitch and All That Remains, but I’m always up for checking out new bands. It’s really buzzing in and around The Wulfren and the general area is full of excited fans waiting for the doors to open. The doors opened and slowly after a brief check for illegal objects we slowly muse on into the actual hall. Johnny Truant have already started, and they took me by surprise, they were bloody amazing. Johnny Truant played a phenomenal set and I now consider myself a fan. Next up was the almighty All That Remains. The band opened their set with And Death in My Arms (my favourite song I might add) to a huge roar from the crowd I could tell right off things were going to get better still. I feel that the ATR’s set was a bit short but was absolutely phenomenal. They should have been placed higher on the line up. I was really looking forward to the headline band, Killswitch Engage and my god they didn’t disappoint, their set was awesome from start to finish and with Howard singing “My Last Serenade” I have to admit I had shivers it was that good. All in all it was a great night and a great way to spend my 20th birthday” REMEMBER: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE-THE END OF HEARTACHE special edition-OUT NOW

COLD BEER, HERE

In case you didn’t know, Chimaira is back at Spider Studios in the greater Cleveland area, recording their new CD. In fact, all the drums have been tracked (those, however, were tracked at Anteup.) Also on . Chimaira’s website – Check out the video clip of new drummer Kevin Talley laying down the law at the above mentioned Anteup studios. Here’s his official welcomming statement: Greetings fellow Chimaira fans! This is Kevin Talley, Chimaira’s new drummer. Sorry I haven’t had the chance to formally introduce myself. When I got the call to join Chimaira 7 months ago I was blown away. I was being offered a gig with one of the best and most brutal metal bands in the scene today. Since joining the band, I have been overwhelmed with Chimaira’s level of brotherhood and professionalism. This is truly a deserving reality for all my years of hard work and dedication to my dream. After touring the states, Japan, and Australia, we started writing and recording our new album. We have been hard at work for the past 5 months and I just wrapped up my drum tracks last week. The drumming on this record is arguably my best work to date. To all the death metal heads who have followed me through my years in Dying Fetus and Misery Index, I thank you for the support and know you will be just as stoked about my drumming in Chimaira. To my band mates, Chimaira fans and friends around the world, I thank you for your warm welcome and appreciation. I look forward to the completion of the new record and of course to getting back out on the road. There are a lot of ice-cold beers to be drunk with you all!
