ON THE ROADRAGE WITH TRIVIUM, STILL REMAINS & 3IOB

Posted on February 12, 2008

In todays edition of ON THE ROADRAGE WITH TRIVIUM, STILL REMAINS & 3IOB we see how the band deal the trials and tribulations of ordering something from ARGOS!! DAY 9 – TUESDAY 9th – DAY Leeds was eventful to say the least! After the bands interviews and other media related tasks were over, Roadrunner took a couple of Trivium members to the mighty Argos. Now we’re not saying these guys are vain, but they do like to keep them in shape. Hence they needed to get a weights bench. Roadrunner had fun explaining the Argos system to the boys… “O.k. all tou need to do is find a lamintated catalogue, check one of the mini computers to see if what you want is in stock, fill out catalogue number on little form with mini pen, take said form to desk to pay, watch tv screen for your number to come up, go to stated collection point at another desk to pick items up. EASY, ISN’T IT?”. Apparently it would never work in America! DAY 9 – TUESDAY 9th – EVENING The Leeds show was totally rammed! All 3 bands went down a absolute storm and the crowd were going crazy for it. It seems that with each show the crowd and bands are getting more intense and it watch “It’s a truly beautiful thing!” Afterwards Roadrunner took the bands to Slam Dunk, a great punk rock night on Tuesdays held at thee Cockpit. All 3 bands and Roadrunner got drunk and did some dodgy dancing to the likes of Motley Crue, Nine Inch Nails and various others we cant remember. Highlights for the bands were hearing the DJ play their tunes in the club, to which they sang along and did a various assortment of air guitar / bass and drums to. TJ & Mike from Still Remains win the prize for the night survivors, dancing until the house lights came up and the DJ stopped playing and we all got kicked out. 110% rock and roll! SPECIAL THANKS On the road reporters Danielle Sameroff, Sami Westwood & Kirsten Lane REMEMBER Although the tickets are moving fast there are still a few available, so CLICK HERE to order your ticket online.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD are currently slaying the UK with their AXES of ROCK on the Roadrage Tour. If you haven’t seen any of the shows yet, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING!!!. There is only one week left so make haste! We were lucky enough to catch up with 3 Inches Of Blood frontman Cam Pipes to ask him to give us his TOP 20 METAL ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. So here it is, the Holy Grail of metal knowledge. *WARNING PLEASE USE THE DISPATCHED INFORMATION ONLY FOR GOOD* Cam’s Top 20 Metal Albums & Why (in no particular order) Iron Maiden í¢ä‰åäóì Powerslave Judas Priest í¢ä‰åäóì Stained Class UFO í¢ä‰åäóì Phenomenon Thin Lizzy í¢ä‰åäóì Fighting Manowar í¢ä‰åäóì Kings Of Metal Enslaved í¢ä‰åäóì ELD Rainbow í¢ä‰åäóì Rising Rush í¢ä‰åäóì 2112 URiah Heap í¢ä‰åäóì Demons & Wizards Blind Guardian í¢ä‰åäóì Nightfall in Middle Earth Deep Purple í¢ä‰åäóì Machine Head Iron Maiden í¢ä‰åäóì Piece of Mind Tygers of Pan Tang í¢ä‰åäóì Wildcat Metallica í¢ä‰åäóì Kill Em All Emperor í¢ä‰åäóì Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk Running Wild í¢ä‰åäóì Black Hand Inn Styx í¢ä‰åäóì The Serpent is Rising Black Sabbath í¢ä‰åäóì MOB Rules Judas Priest í¢ä‰åäóì British Steel Dissection í¢ä‰åäóì Storm of the Lights Bane The Logic Behind The Madness… 1. Are in no particular order and the reason they made the list are because each album struck a chord with me. It may be because of a few songs on an album or the way the album sounds as a whole. To be honest it was hard to think of only 20 to be on the list and if I were to do this list again it would probably look very different as there are many albums that had a stoking effect like these ones. ONE OF THE BEST GIGS EVER!

Posted on February 12, 2008

Check out one of the first live reviews from the Roadrage Tour Glasgow date. Submitted by one of the Roadrunner Street Teamers. ——————– The excitement outside the venue told you this would be a gig which would not be forgotten quickly! Still Remains opened with a bang! Quickly the pits opened and I felt the need to join in! I hadn’t heard their album before the gig in full, but live it sounds immense! White walls I had heard on a New Shit 11 and liked, but live it has more atmosphere and action to it! Not for one single second did they just stand there or not make it feel like they weren’t happy to be there! I would hate to follow this act. They came on and gave EVERYTHING and more! This was easily good enough for a headlining band! 3 Inches of Blood where up next and I couldn’t wait to see them! the main reason I wanted to go to the gig! But the crowd seemed half arsed excited while a few of us where preparing ourselves! They can pull of the vocals live, and after a few songs the crowd were singing along and generally going fucking crazy. A big difference from when they had walked on. Dominion of Deceit, Premonition of Pain, Lord of the Storm, Axes of Evil were all played to amazing crowd reactions. Is there a better ending song beside Deadly Sinners? Well Still Remains set the bar pretty high, but 3IOB took it upon themselves to go even crazier! Happy birthday Cam by the way! Hope you enjoyed the Jager everyone brought on stage! He got a special Scottish version of Happy Birthday! Before Trivium hit the stage the tension grew! While setting up the drums I thought they were taking the piss! Took up near enough half the stage! Some site with all those symbols! The End Of Everything starts and straight into Rain! The place goes nuts! Heads move! Pits get bigger! Corey windmills which sends everyone into a frenzy! He can do it live! Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr kicked in and I was off! Into the pits but I quickly left the front 2 rows! They kept getting faster and heavier! My god how these people were still alive and moving like they were was un-real! Now one thing you don’t do is say Glasgow isn’t a crazy crowd! So what does Matt do? Manchester was harder than you guys, his lip shows it! So what happens? Circles, Walls of Death, Faster bigger pits! This was fucking insane! Bodies went EVERYWHERE! Suffocating Sight and Matt wants crowd surfers! Well instantly people are off! The place was going insane! Im sure they kept cranking up the volume! It kept getting louder and faster throughout the night! Next was Ascendancy and the place raised the bar again shouting back every single word! A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation saw the place in yet another frenzy. Fuck, Trivium kept giving you more and more, playing harder and harder! The crowd really got into this one! Now to some fuck around period where the play some quick-fire Maiden and Misfits! The crowd really got into the maiden song signing it back with power and passion! Matt couldn’t remember the words. Any of you guys got ember to inferno deluxe edition? This is the deceived! How anyone was still pitting or moving there heads shows true something! Trivium kept pulling it out of the bag! Fastness, still moving around like they had just started one of the best sets EVER! Guess the finishing song? go on? Like Light To Flies! This made them play even harder and faster which I don’t know how they can! Still pounding the fuck out of the drums! Good god they fucking slayed! They brought it to the plate and raised it! They had to after the previous 2 bands! For 퉌£8 this was money well spent and to anyone who thought they couldn’t afford this you missed out! If this is Roadrunner’s New breed I would hate to see what other labels are going to compete with! Trivium no longer have the tag “believe the hype”. Most impressive site of the night goes to Travis and his amazing drum set!! Most impressive thing overall- 3 Inches of Blood pulling of the vocals live and cam’s beard! Thank you roadrunner for one of the best gigs ever! REMEMBER: Although the tickets are moving fast there are still a few available, so CLICK HERE to order your ticket online. WE BLEED ALL THE TIME FROM ROCKING TOO HARD

Posted on February 12, 2008

The following questions were asked by fans to The Agony Scene’s Brent Masters. Here is what he had to say. Question: What got you started into music and how long did you put in before you got signed? Answer: I think we’ve all have loved and been around music since we were little kids. Personally though I’ve been playing for over ten years now and playing in bands through almost the full extent of that time. So I guess it took about seven years before I sold my soul the first time. Question: What’s the hardest sacrifice you’ve had to make through being in the band? Answer: I would say that not being able to be around the people we love at home while we’re on tour is probably the hardest thing. Other than that everything is a privilege. Question: Seeing how The Agony Scene used to be on Solid State Records, a predominately Christian label, has Christianity influenced the band or band members in any way, shape or form? Answer: We’ve never sat down and talked to each other about what we believe. As far as the band we believe in the church of rock! Question: What lead The Agony Scene to switch from Solid State to RoadRunner? And what should one expect on the new record with 3 members being replaced? Answer: First of all only two members are new (Stephen, and Brian) Mike, Chris and I have been in the band since the start. As far as the label change, Solid State really just didn’t have much to offer our band. RR had great things to say about us and had just as high hopes for the band as we do, so we went with them. And Because Mike Gitter is hot! Question: How much have things changed for you guys since you left Solid State? Answer: Things internally have stayed the same for the most part. As far as the business aspect we have a lot more people working with us now than we ever have. So it helps us to be able to concentrate on our music a lot more. Question: Hey guys, just wanted to know what was your mindset like in recording the new record? Did you go in knowing how you wanted the record to sound? Answer: Well the record was written before we entered the studio so we knew what it would sound like, but during the writing process we just kept playing with no preconceived ideas in order to bring out what comes more naturally to us… thus “The Darkest Red”. Question: What is your largest musical inspiration? Answer: Mine personally…. probably The Doors. Question: If you could tour with any band alive or dead what band would it be? Answer: Pantera. Question: What is your favorite song to play live? Answer: It depends on how sober I am but I like playing “Lines of Suicide” a lot. Question: Have any of you guys been injured while playing? Answer: Yes, I am at home right now due to a tear in my biceps. Other than that we bleed all the time from rocking to hard. Question: In the world of “metal core” bands, how do you see yourself standing out from the crowd? Answer: The question is how do YOU see us standing out? Question: Will there be any guest vocals on your new album? Answer: Nope. Question: Hey what words of advice can you give to kids that want to start a band? Answer: Work as hard as you can then work harder. Don’t ever give up. Being in a band is not all fun and games just keep striving to be the best. Question: What do you think is the most important role in being in the band? Answer: The drummer is the most important member because of his off “tha” hook skills

A DEVIL IN THE MACHINE?

Posted on February 12, 2008

DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara has posted the following message on the group’s official web site: “We had a four-day drive from california to Flint, MI to start out the States Turn Blue To Gray tour with MACHINE HEAD. First date, a sold-out show at The Machine Shop (May 6). The next day we stayed in Flint on a day off, and went to back to The Machine Shop for b-b-q and a good time (we want to thank Kevin at The Machine Shop for treating us so well). Last night was Toronto, where Robert Flynn was too sick to sing, but he played guitar and auditioned fans from the audience all night, having them come up and sing songs. Even three DEVILDRIVER bandmates came up to sing. It was an all around great time for people. Glad that didn’t cancel, it went off without a hitch.” “We’re on our way to Boston, driving on the 90…we have the day off and will be visiting family of the band. Tomorrow we play Rhode Island, can’t wait to see everybody there…god am i glad to be back on tour…” Did you know? The follow-up to DEVILDRIVER’s 2002 critically-acclaimed self-titled debut, “The Fury of Our Maker’s Hand” was produced by Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY, NAPALM DEATH) at Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, TX and is “way heavier and much faster” than its predecessor, according to frontman Dez Fafara (ex-COAL CHAMBER).
