MY PRECIOUS

Posted on February 12, 2008

New York hardcore legends MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD are preparing for the release of their third full-length release on Trustkill/Roadrunner Records. The album’s tentative title, “Merciless”, encompasses both the lyrical themes and music found on this new release. “The songs are a culmination of years and years of life experience: Betrayal, loss, grief, abandonment but forever trudging on in the face of immortal adversity. Life is merciless as are all the new songs,” says guitarist Justin Brannan. Though it promises to be the most punishing MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD release yet, the band has also expanded their musical repertoire to include orchestral and electronic sounds with production co-handled by themselves and Dean Balutonis. The full tracklisting is as follows: 1. Shark Ethic 2. Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves 3. Driving Angry 4. Damage Control Freak 5. Mad As The March Hare 6. Type A Personality 7. Oxygen Debt 8. Aimed Carefully, Fired Relentlessly 9. Diet For A New America 10. Curse Of The Immortal 11. World War You 12. Narcoleptic Sleepwalker 13. Temporary Solution To A Permanent Problem The release is set for release in late September.

NAME THAT RELEASE

Posted on February 12, 2008

To celebrate our 25th Anniversary, later this year we will be releasing a CD that up until now we have been referring to only as the Roadrunner All Stars. For this historic release, Robert Flynn (Machine Head), Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), and Matt Heafy (Trivium) have each written four songs and have assembled their own group of musicians – past and present – that have appeared on RR throughout the years to record ’em. No musician appears on any song more than once (ceptin’ for the four team captians), and over 50 musicians will be recording among the 12 songs. SO, WHAT DO WE TITLE THIS RELEASE? We are asking YOU for the answer. Come the end of July, we will be picking a name from your entries. The person coming up with the chosen name will receive a credit in the CD package liner notes, plus all the RR 25th Anniversary related releases: Sepultura Roots Fear Factory Demanufacture Mercyful Fate Melissa King Diamond Abigail Coal Chamber Coal Chamber Soulfly Soulfly Machine Head Burn My Eyes Killswitch Engage Alive Or Just Breathing + 2 more to be named later enter your choice at www.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk/freeshit Good Luck, God Bless Us All…

FU*CK1N’ BRUTAL

Posted on February 12, 2008

In a recent interview with FearFactoryFans.com Dino Cazares had the following to say about his contribution FearFactoryFans.com: What can we expect on your part of the “Roadrunner All-Stars” project? Dino: “The ‘Roadrunner All-Stars’ was fucking bad-ass. That was really fun. It was a little difficult to get everyone together, but it was worth it. Andreas Kisser from Sepultura flew in from Brazil to jam with me, Paul Gray, the bass player of Slipknot, came down for this, Roy Mayorga (ex Soulfly) played drums on three songs, Dave McClain (Machine Head0 played drums on one song. Marcelo (ex Soulfly), played bass on one song. Nadja from Coal Chamber played bass on one song. Mike, the guitarist of Spineshank, played guitar on one song. Logan Mader, (ex Machine Head), played guitar on one song. “The singers: Mark, the singer from Chimaira on one song. It came out fucking brutal. It’s called ‘Enemy’. Matt Heafy, the singer of Trivium, did one song. It came out amazing. This song might be the first single from the album. It’s called ‘The End’. Dez from Devildriver is doing a song and Cristian from Ill Nino is doing a song. Three of my songs are brutally heavy and one is light. I wanted to try and do something different for the light song.” FearFactoryFans.com: Will we still be hearing your melodic side as well as the brutal heavy songs/riffs? Dino: “My heart is with metal and will always be. I love playing heavy shit, but as most of you know, I have a melodic side, so I will be combining those two styles together always. I love doing the machine-gun riffs with the melodic choruses…” FEAR FACTORY FANS.COM
