CLASSIC ROCK WINNER REPORTS FLOOD IN FOR AIRBOURNE WHILST THE BAND CELEBRATE IN STYLE!
Posted on November 6, 2008In addition to the Roadrunner Records UK site’s announcement, reports and reviews of the mighty ‘BEST NEW BAND’ Classic Rock Award 2008 win by AIRBOURNE have been coming in thick and fast! Held at the Park Lane Hotel in Central London on Monday 4th November, this now marks two in a row for Roadrunner, as we picked up the same gong last year for BLACK STONE CHERRY!

It was in true rock n roll style that the guys chose to celebrate, with a totally impromtu performance at the After Show Party! Taking over the stage and the house band’s instruments, they belted out ‘Fat City’ from their ‘Runnin’ Wild’ album. As if that wasn’t good enough, along with Dan Hawkins (guitarist in their current UK tour’s support band, Stone Gods, previously in The Darkness) and one game member of the audience on bass duties, they did a storming rendition of ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ by legendary rockers (and fellow Classic Rock Award 2008 winners) AC/DC!
