SOULFLY TO COVER BEATUIFUL PEOPLE

Posted on February 12, 2008

Soulfly have posted the following message on their official website:

“For the first time since 2000, SOULFLY will be making a brief visit to South America to play some music. On April 20th SOULFLY will be playing at Estadio Pepsi Music in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and they will be at Estadio Victor Jara in Santiago, Chile on April 21st. A message from Max [Cavalera, SOULFLY mainman]: 'SOULFLY Tribe, it's time to Downstroy. . . We're finally coming back. It's been too fucking long! We can't wait to be jamming live again so you better get the mosh pit ready, it's gonna be fucking awesome. Do Caralho. Respect.'

“We did our best to line up dates for other countries in South America but we weren't able to secure a decent promoter in time for this visit. Any fans in Brasil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuduador, Uruguay, Costa Rica and anywhere else should try to get a hold of big local promoters in your area and tell them that you want to see SOULFLY, because SOULFLY wants to see you.

Marc Rizzo has just let us know that he's in the studio finishing up his next record, the follow-up to his 2005 album 'Colossal Myopia', and that he's especially proud of this one. We're still awaiting release information for this. He has also scheduled some solo shows in the Midwest for the first time ever, so if that's where you're at, make sure you make it out this week to check him out. Show dates are:

March 13, 2007 – 8:00P – The Haunt in Ithaca, New York
March 14, 2007 – 8:00P – Scanlans in Rockford, Illinois
March 16, 2007 – 8:00P – The Blue Chalk in Middleton, Wisconsin
March 17, 2007 – 8:00P – Stage 83 in Lemont, Illinois
March 25, 2007 – 8:00P – Ace's Lounge in Johnstown, Pennsylvania

“Right now, at this very moment, Max is at home in Arizona writing like a maniac for the next SOULFLY release, but at the end of the month SOULFLY will be going to Los Angeles to record a cover of the MARILYN MANSON song 'Beautiful People' for an upcoming Kerrang! magazine compilation. We're hoping that we can get Logan Mader [ex-MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY] to engineer the track, but he's been rather busy lately, so we'll let you know if everyone's schedules work out. You can also expect the two unreleased four-track songs from Max's post-SEPULTURA months to be released via this site and our MySpace page within a short time.”
