SOULFLY SLAUGHTER

Posted on February 12, 2008

Posted on the official Soulfly website is the following update:

SOULFLY's mainman Max Cavalera is soon coming up with his new recording premiere. In just two weeks, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, he will release his is latest work is a piece of art created in his aggressive-metal home factory directly to you as an mp3 download through www.soulflyweb.com and www.myspace.com/soulfly. Developed from a four-track home recorder, 'After the Slaughter' is going to be released in its original version, without any kind of post-production from the studio.

“Presenting his notebook to the public, Max opens his devotion and hopes to expand views of both writing and recording. Starting with rhythms, he records drum machine first and basic guitars, after he bounce the tracks back to one line, making space for more guitars, vocals, and other sounds which creates the atmosphere Max's music is known for. His style erupts with the vocals that are recorded with headphones used as a microphone! Also, Max's 12 year-old son Igor makes his premiere appearance in 'After the Slaughter', recording the bass guitar. This type of recording is well known for Max. It is the same four-track recorder for the songs he recorded starting from early SEPULTURA time. This way of recording is old and primitive, comparing to new technologies, and also requires good recording skills. Still, thanks to Max's wish to share his performance outside studios and venues, SOULFLY fans will be able for the first time to get close to the uniqueness, and hear the original, unpolished mix of Max Cavalera's writing/recording masterpiece.

“In 'After the Slaughter' Max Cavalera brings brutally raw guitar riffs creating a new, reborn aggressive energy that today's metal scene lost. Subconsciously Max has essentially developed a new metal sub genre — 'aggro-metal.' 'After the Slaughter', in this version as a four-track, will be only available for a limited time download at www.soulflyweb.com and www.myspace.com/soulfly on May 1, 2007 for a mere $0.99 through SOULFLY's SNOCAP store. That's less than one dollar for brand new SOULFLY shit straight from the mind of Max Cavalera to your ears!”
