ROADRUNNER TAKES THE BIZKIT…

Posted on February 12, 2008

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has been confirmed as the fourth í¢ä‰åñteam captainí¢ä‰åŒ for Roadrunner’s 25th Anniversary í¢ä‰åñAll Starsí¢ä‰åŒ project. He joins Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory/Brujeria) and Robert Flynn (Machine Head), who will each assemble a unique team of artists to appear on each brand new track track that they have written for the project. In order to cover as wide a spectrum as possible, no musician will play for more than one writer/producer and each song will feature a different vocalist. Although the original intention was for all 4 í¢ä‰åñcaptainsí¢ä‰åŒ to be Roadrunner artists, Durst contacted the label about becoming involved when news leaked of the project on the net a few weeks ago. His passion for the Roadrunner dates back as far as Canadian thrash metallers Annihilator in the late ’80’s, culminating on his appearance on the eponymous Soulfly album in 1998 (Limp Bizkit also supported Soulfly in Europe the same year). Currently, Durst has expressed a lot of interest in Trivium, who hail from his home state of Florida, although he is still to confirm any of his participating musicians. ROADRUNNER ALL-STARS album is due for release later this year.
