Roadraging Bristol

Posted on February 12, 2008

First time I’ve been able to see KsE live. Same for Five Pointe O. Second time for 36 Crazyfists. Have to say, was blown away by all 3 bands. And so was everyone else in the Bristol Academy from what I could see. “Fuckin’ brilliant”, grinned Brock, vocals of 36 Crazyfists. “We’re really excited to be playing the UK,” said Mike, KsE bassist, “everyone has said that here is the place so I guess in Europe the UK is where we’ve been wanting to play the most.” Plenty of crowd surfers keeping security busy. Plenty of people pleading with security to stay in at the end of the show so they could get autographs from the band members who came out to meet anyone who wanted to say hi. KsE came on early having heard that many people had early trains to catch in order to get home so they wouldn’t half the set, and paused more than once to show their surprise and appreciation for the warm reception they’ve been receiving. It seems you guys here in the UK like these 3 bands. Post show, a RockSound journalist spent the night on the KsE tour bus preparing an On The Road feature so watch out for that in an upcoming issue. All were very well behaved we heard from the journalist in question this morning, just drinking beer, chatting, and watching ‘That’s Life’ Esther Ranzen videos?! We didn’t delve deeper. Today, we’re all in Exeter, and being only 1.5 hours from Bristol, everyone should be well rested. Seeing as this is the first full-on sleeper tour bus for any of the bands, they’ve been adjusting to sleeping in a small coffin-like bunk while hurtling round UK roads in the middle of the night. We’ll be bringing you tour reports from the bands themselves soon so watch this space.
