Posted on February 12, 2008DUTCH goth rock favourites Within Temptation return to Manchester for another date on Thursday.
Nick Thompson caught up with main man Ruud Jolie for a chat following their last show here:
Ruud Jolie, guitarist with Dutch gothic metal six-piece Within Temptation, is relaxed and friendly as he greets me following the band’s soundcheck for their Academy 2 gig (last April).
Though the band’s name might not ring bells for many in this country at present, current album ‘The Heart Of Everything’ might just change that over the next few months, as more people become acquainted with their symphonic music and lead singer Sharon den Adel’s amazing vocals, which have already given me goose bumps from hearing the soundcheck a whole floor of the building away.
What can Within Temptation’s loyal UK fanbase can expect from their shows?
“As much as possible, but everything depends on the size of the venue. And unfortunately we’re not allowed to use fire in the UK!
