Joel On Drums, Sid On Decks and Website On Its Way

Posted on February 12, 2008

When a fan asked Joel, how long he’d been playing the drums for, he replied, “I have been playing drums for about 20 years. It started when I was watching an old Motley Crue video. I saw Tommy Lee bashing the fuck out of the drums and I told my mom that I want to do that and she was like OH GREAT. We had this sectional in our Apt. so I got some sticks and beat the hell out of that.” New website in development… not ready just yet, but it will be located at : www.stonesour.com. The first VHS of the finished video for ‘Get Inside’ arrived here this morning and was promptly whisked off to the depths of a legal department for TV clearance. All work ceased, every pair of eyes present trained on the TV screen to view… Meanwhile, what can we tell you about it? It is entirely live footage filmed at the recent Stone Sour show in Los Angeles. Neither Corey or Jim wear their Slipknot masks in the video. Josh plays the guitar solo. The video has been shot in black and white. Random facts: Sid (0) from Slipknot guests on songs “Monolith,” “Cold Reader” and “Orchids”, playing the turntables. Denny Gibbs plays the hammond organ on “Inhale”. The album was recorded at the Catamount Studios, Cedar Falls, Iowa. All songs have been written and performed by Stone Sour, except “Bother” written and performed by Corey Taylor and “Tumult” written by Stone Sour and Ryan Weeder and performed by Stone Sour. The album has been produced by Tom Tatman & Stone Sour and mixed by Toby Wright excluding “Bother”, which was produced by James “Jimbo” Barton (also responsible for mixing this song) & Corey Taylor.
