So, got an email from Sinch’s Jay Smith here – a tale of intrigue, love gone bad, heresy, heroics, hearts pounding, and buying a dog… Actually, all lies. BUT, the email part is true – however, it was about something that doesn’t happen each day. During the band’s show last week at Toad’s place in New Haven, the oddest thing happened – and it went like this: “Last night a taco truck crashed into the club we were playing in New Haven, CT. The driver apparently did not know that the big map of Texas that was painted on the front of the club wasn’t really Texas at all. He got really excited and drove right into the middle of the club during our set. Luckily there was no one hurt, but there was lettuce, guacamole, cheese and sour cream all over the place. The funny thing was I didn’t see beans, chicken or beef anywhere? We all ate free tacos after the show.” True? Unfortunately, I would venture to say ‘yes.’ Did You Know? Dan (drums) and Mike (bass), the rhythm section of Sinch, met through their fathers. Their fathers, Mikey and Stu, were in a jug band together. In fact, Dan can play the tub bass (think a washtub with a pole and string attached to it) and Mike can play the fiddle. True? Ummmm…ask Jay. However, two things we can confirm are two new Sinch US tour dates. As follows: Jul 20 – Augusta, GA – Crossroads Bar, and Jul 22 – Gainesville, FL – The Palace. Note: SINCH co-headlines with Epidemic, Seether supports.
