Posted on February 12, 2008

The Last Kind Words’ is the title of DevilDriver’s upcoming album. The guys recently wrapped up their recording sessions with legendary producer Jason Suecof (Trivium), at the Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas. Working songtitles are reported as include “Damning the Heavens“, “Cattle Call“, “The Last Kind Words” and “Monsters of the Deep“.

The band featuring former Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara commented: “The record is finished and has now begun to be mixed. Most of it was done in Texas, and I finished the vocals with Jason here in Santa Barbara on January 13th. We have named it 'The Last Kind Words'!! Release date for our third record will be June 5th, 2007 [in the U.S., one day earlier internationally]. We are in the process now of locking down tours, and will keep you informed. As of now, [it] looks like we will see ya in late March, early April.

“Heres what we are doing: Jeff [Kendrick, guitar] is in Boston, where he is from, visiting family. [Jon] Miller [bass] is kicking at home, gettin some needed rest, watching horror flicks and anything with sharks in it. [John] Boecklin [drums] is at home and just got engaged to his longtime sweetheart. Mike [Spreitzer, guitar] is at home, and no doubt, kite-boarding daily! I'm here writing this..lololo..

“We are working on artwork for the new disc, and will post when we have anything 'solid.' As far as when we will post new music? As soon as we get some good mixes I'm sure that we will put up something for all of you.”
